Lance Moore for Donnie Avery?

Postby TruNinerFan » Fri Jul 17, 2009 1:27 pm

I have an offer in my dynasty league, I give up Lance Moore for Donnie Avery. Who do you guys like more this year and long term? I like Avery this year, I like a #1 WR on a bad team. I see him getting alot of receptions on garbage time when the Rams are way behind. But, I also can't ignore what Moore did last year.

Scoring: 6 pt all TD, 1 pt every 10 yards rush/rec, 1 PPR

My current WR's:
Andre Johnson, A. Boldin, B. Marshall, L. Moore, B. Berrian, D. Hixon, R. Meachem

What do you guys think?

I dunno, personally I think I keep Lance Moore. Theres so much offense in the Drew Brees bandwagon that Moore has some pretty ridiculous upside.

Moore is on a power house team but if guys are healthy his time and rec goes way down. If shockey or Colston gets hurt his value goes way up.

I like the idea of a young #1 WR. #1 target on any team is better than most #3/4 option on other teams. He is young and fast. With Sjax healthy it only helps him. I see him as a 1000yrd wr 6TD and can only get better as the team gets better.

Tough call but I go with a #1 WR vs a 3/4th option off a better team.

Moore has shown he can be a productive receiver for the best passing offense in the NFL. Enough upside to be a WR2.

Donnie Avery has talent, but there are so many more question marks than with Moore. Holt is gone, and I think that puts a damper on Avery's upside... Holt is not there to draw away safeties and double coverage.

I would pass on this deal.

I disagree about Moore being a 3rd or 4th option on his own team. His numbers did not significantly suffer when Colston came back from injury last year. Bush will get some looks, as will Shockey, but there are a ton of passes to go around in NO.

Moore is the 2nd receiving option that is going to see his share of single coverage in the most potent passing attack in the NFL.

I like Moore in the New Orleans offense. Lots of balls to go around and he gets favorable match-ups from Defenses. Avery will have his games but overall I'm afraid the inconsistancy from him this year because of how bad STL will be might hurt his overall production.
