I appreciate the feedback. But, I am very tempted by this trade. For one this is a big money league and I don't feel like I have a chance in this league with my RB's. I think that M. Barber could score 12-15 Td's this year and Bush will be lucky to have 6. I acquired draft picks to use as trade bait. If I do make this trade, I still have 2 first round picks and I am picking up a top 10 back in this format. Am I the only one that sees the upside of this deal?
My biggest question would be: which of the '10 and '11 picks do you have to give up? The earliest? The latest?
Barber is a TD machine, and I agree that he can finish top-10 in your format, even with a reduced workload from Jones and Choice.
But if I have to give up my earliest 1st round picks, I might pass on the deal. You have Fred Jackson who can start for you for a few games, and you have some high-upside backups that could prove to be start-able for you, namely Mendy and Greene if they win the short-yardage job for their teams. 2 early first round picks is a pretty high price to pay if you don't need to.
If I get to give up the latest picks, then this is a pretty easy yes deal.
While Bush is not who you want in a TD heavy league you are overpaying for Barber. Barber has had 16, 12 and then 9 TD's over the last 3 years. I don't like the direction he is going in.
Someone else mentioned it but what picks would these be? IF you can be fairly certain they are 1.08 to 1.12 then yes, I would probably do the deal. If you are potentially giving up 1 or 2 top 6 picks, pass on the deal.
these are rookie picks we're talking about here, and they can be busts as often as they're hits. to me, bush has about zero value in a non-PPR TD-heavy league, while MB3 is a certifiable TD stud. he lost a lot of production due to injury last year, and i think he'll get back to double digit TDs this year.
the rest of your RB group is in bad shape, at least now (frank gore, willie parker, clinton portis, and AP injuries aside) and MB3 would give you an every-week starter next to lynch when he comes back.
