I'm in a 14 team Dynasty league with the following scoring format.
Pass: 1 point per 25 yards, 4 points per TD Rush/Receive: 1 point per 10 yards, 6 points per TD
The starting roster is QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, WR/RB, TE, K, DEF
My current roster is:
QB: Jay Cutler, Chad Pennington, Vince Young WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Greg Jennings, Marques Colston, Brandon Marshall, Josh Morgan RB: DeAngelo Williams, Brandon Jacobs, Steven Jackson, Chester Taylor, Pierre Thomas, Peyton Hillis, Ryan Torain TE: John Carlson K: Joe Nedney DEF: Baltimore
All players are currently on waivers and will be for the next few weeks. These are the players that were unowned when the pool ended last year as well as new players that have been added to the database this year.
All rookies are on waivers.
I've been offered the following: Peyton Manning and the #3 waiver priority for DeAngelo Williams and my #14 waiver priority.
Should I accept? I'd be more confident going into the season with Manning as my starting QB over Cutler and I do have Pierre Thomas to take DeAngelo's place in my usual starting roster. With the 3rd waiver pick I'd be able to snag one of Chris Wells, Knowshon Moreno, LeSean McCoy, Donald Brown, Michael Crabtree, etc.
Am I a fool to pass this up? Or am I a fool to consider letting DeAngelo go? If I do accept, which rookie would be the best fit for my team?
Thanks in advance and my apologies for the lengthy post.
Here in Panthers country, most think DeAngelo's 2nd half was just a flash in the pan. I think he's a solid back, but not a top 6 kind of guy like most rankings have him.
Given that, you are getting a great offer. I agree you are upgrading at QB and not really taking a big hit at RB, with a nice rookie to sweeten the deal, I say take it.
I would make this deal. I don't think we are going to see the same Jay Cutler we saw in Denver. He dosen't have the weapons, so Peyton will be a nice upgrade. I do think Deangelo is the real deal, but I am also a fan of Pierre Thomas. Plus, you are getting the 3rd rookie pick. So, you will come away with Wells, Moreno, Brown or McCoy. I would go Rb since you are so stacked at WR. I think that this trade will help you now and in the future.
