Addai- will he rebound?

Postby slick56 » Sun Jul 19, 2009 9:46 am

Hey guys. Keeper league 12 teams keep 3 going into the season now after i made a trade last night for Addai. Not sure what to expect but here is my team and thoughts on him.
Keepers- RBush, JAddai, Chris Johnson. I have Mendenhall , McGahee and Hightower as well. I unloaded Brady straight up for Addai. In my league QBs arent worth all that much, 4 pts a TD so they in essence equal to WR and RB TDs. PPR league so Bush is a decent #2 RB. We start QB,RB,RB,Flex,WR,WR,TE,K,DEF

D Rhodes always spelled Addai, he came in and got 10-12 touches the most when Addai has his solid 2 yrs. This is a guy who went in rd 1 1st 8 picks those 2 yrs and that was 06 & 07. 2008 was a tough yr for him. Injuries slowed him down plus Indy's O-Line was riddled with injuries too. He has fallen in most drafts to rd 2 and even 3 i been seeing. I have a hunch Indy will use rook D Brown in the same role as D Rhodes and Addai is the main ball carrier. Can anyone give their opinion and say the same or you all feel different. I have the 1st pick in the draft and i might go with Moreno, Beanie or Fitzgerald. Not sure yet. Thoughts?

I don't feel he will rebound. He has proven he can't handle 100% of the load which is why Rhodes got just as much production as him (50/50 split). Now Rhodes goes and they try and get a guy who ccan handle the load. Addai's carries will likely decrease as Brown gets better.

No way I would have traded Brady for him even with the point system. I would grab Fitz for sure with the number one.

I hope this works out and you get some value but NEVER throw away a Top 2 QB for a long shot, chance, unsure guy. I personally would avoid Addai in all drafts. I would rather have D.Brown over him.

Will he bounce back, yes he could. He could also flop huge. He's young and if he fights could do "ok". But at this point I have him listed as a RB3 and think you could have got a solid RB2/1 for Brady.

brady is coming off knee surgery, have any of you guys considered that? Palmer and McNabbles have come back strong what makes you think Brady will. You all mentioned never give up a top 2 QB but was he top 2 last yr? He is not superman fellas, most QBs get sacked more then he did in his career so he will probably get pressured more and sacked. besides, my league is RB heavy, they all hoard them. Most #2 RBs are = to top QBs in our league. I dont see any of you mention his injury which doesnt suprise me, everyone thinks this guy is god and he is not.

no sense in getting all offended buddy but the truth is you could have got more bang for your buck, all reports have Brady healthy and I personally wouldn't have made that trade(unless I was getting Brady) though it's your team and what's done is done.As far as your #1pick I would go Fitz for sure

I'm not huge on QB's EVER but I know T.Brady has move value than a #3 RB. My point was that you could have got more because there are so many people on the Brady train.

Draft Fitz #1 no doubt in PPR. You do have 3 RB's in Cj/Bush and Addai at 3. I think Mendenhall could take the job in PIT but we'll see. Put fitz in there and its looking good. I would try to get D.Brown ASAP in a keeper league and since you have Addai.

Good luck!

Sorry but I think you made a bad trade. I belive the Colts drafted D.Brown because they have lost faith in Addai. I see Addai as a third down back who is going to spell Brown. You basically traded a #3 Rb for a stud Qb who could throw 30-40 TD's this year.

Yeah you got had on this one, Addai will not be back with the Colts when his rookie contract expires. He'll want starter money based on 1.5 years of decent play and the Colts won't pay.

have to agree you got taken this is one of those i'll throw it out there only to get rejected trades that went through even if brady only throws for 25-30 tds this year you have to realize he will come back even stronger in years to come and he is a top 2 qb addai isnt even a guaranteed starter anymore he's really only had 1.5 good years of play bad move

In a 3-keeper league, I am meh on keeping QBs. Chances are you can grab Rodgers or Warner if you really want a top QB. The ability to start 3 RBs edges it closer to an even trade, IMO. I still would rather have Brady but can't argue too much. I am sort of an Addai believer. I think he'll get 8-10 TDs this year and about 1300-1400 total yards, even if it's like a 60/40 timeshare. That's a solid/high #2.

Since it's a keeper, just grab Moreno and then you don't have to worry about if Addai is worth keeping next year. If he is, it's gravy cause you can trade him
