Title is fairly self explanatory. If you were joining a 1st year, 12 team, 1 PPR dynasty league (normal roster setup, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K DEF), which players stick out in your mind that you would really be aiming to get?
I'm not really looking for rankings or draft help or anything, but rather just curious who sticks out in everyone's mind as someone they would be really trying to target.
Percy Harvin I've been predicting, and current rumous corroborate this, that Harvin is going to be used a lot like Reggie Bush. That is, get him the ball in space with an opportunity to beat the first man and make his yards after the catch. There have also been rumblings that he'll take over third down situations.. The Vikings are absolutely loving Harvin and are specialising a decent part of their offense around him with custom packages. Make no mistake, they're going to feed him the ball. I see a situation where he can get 80+ receptions with at least a 10 yard average. If Wes Welker can have a 6.8 YAC average, I think Harvin can definitely improve on that with his playmaking ability. Add in the carries he's likely to get on third downs and Wildcat packages, he's definitely a guy I'm targetting in PPR redrafts let alone dynasties.
For an initial draft? Obviously the guys listed below will come at various prices but I would be shooting for at least one of these guys from each group. Clearly in some cases this won't be possible given where their ADP is and how many picks you'll potentially have (unless you do some hefty trading).
Adrian Peterson (obvious) Jonathan Stewart Michael Bush
Calvin Johnson Wes Welker Anthony Gonzalez
Greg Olsen Owen Daniels John Carlson
Jay Cutler Matt Ryan Matt Leinart (will be very cheap)
in the initial year i'd pretty much draft to win now...you can worry about rebuilding later. if i had a few guys close in ranking i'd give a bump to the younger guy, but in no way would i totally discount vets or reach for unproven rookies

Peterson really isn't worth the price tag to me in a ppr league. I'd grab Forte, Slaton, MJD, Turner, and LT over him. I've owned AP the last two years and just found it really frustrating to watch him get outscored by lessor RB's because of dump off passes and his consistency just isn't that great.

Adrian Peterson? I fail to see how he's not worth the price tag, yet you would take someone like LT over him which would mean #1 overall

If your knock on ADP is lack of dump off passes and consistency, then why would you take Turner before him?
