With one civil count of assault, one civil count of sexual assault and battery, one civil count of false imprisonment, one civil count of false pretenses, one civil count of fraud, and one civil count of intentonal infliction of emtional distress.
Big Ben is facing sexual assault charges out of an incident to have allegedly taken place in July 2008.
From PFT:
In a complaint that reads like the rape allegations made several years ago against NBA star Kobe Bryant, Harrah's employee Andrea McNulty alleges sexual assault against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a lawsuit filed last week in Washoe County, Nevada.
But lawyer David Cornwell strongly denied the allegations Monday night, in a statement released to PFT. "Ben has never sexually assaulted anyone; especially Andrea McNulty," Cornwell said. ...
I guess the only things I question is why, especially after Kobe raped the girl in Denver, would any athlete entertain the idea of having sexual relations with a complete stranger? It troubles me that she, too, was a hotel employee. Just like I felt with Kobe, you don't just have an employee come up to your room and have sex. In Kobe's case before even having unpacked. That is, unless it is a pattern of behavior. My gosh, these guys walk about the land like Kings. Couldn't they be a little more cautious where they lay down their swords?
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

That it is a civil suit and not a criminal suit
Not sure why that makes it a non-story. Obviously its a bigger deal if its criminal but this is still a very high profile athlete we are talking about. I guess if it was a black guy there would be greater outcry.
A copy of the official complaint has been obtained by PFT and they talk about the details:
We've finally obtained a full and complete and reliable copy of the complaint filed against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in Nevada.
The complaint contains very specific allegations, which either helps prove that the event actually occurred -- or which demonstrates that the plaintiff, Andrea McNulty, has a very active imagination. ...

Vegas + alcohol + hot girl assigned to your suite to make your stay enjoyable. When you think like a multi-million dollar athlete under these conditions, we should not be surprised.

I'd wager that major athletes like these have women throwing themselves at them all the time. I doubt it's an unusual thing.
More details emerging, PFT through TMZ. TMZ is only citing sources close to the situation.
In her complaint against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, plaintiff Andrea McNulty claims that she checked into a Reno hospital on September 25, 2008, with major depression and anxiety. She attributes her condition to the alleged sexual assault.
But our friends at Joe Buck's favorite web site report that "[s]ources connected" to the case claim that her psychiatric care is unrelated to any alleged interaction with Roethlisberger.
Instead, the sources claim that McNulty's psychiatric problems arose from a bizarre situation involving McNulty and another man's wife.
Here's the story, as best we can understand it. ...

Way to edit the context out of what I said. The thing is, we aren't talking about a hot girl assigned to your suite. We're talking about getting to your room, having said hot girl come in and assualting her..,then getting sued. I would think it'd be more wise for these guys, especially in Vegas, to have some hired escort at their beck and call. Yeah, a beck and call girl.
