Should I drop Holt for Hester?

Postby jpolk34 » Thu Jul 23, 2009 10:12 am

I just drafted in a 10 team league that plays 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K & DEF. My team is as follows:

QB: CUTLER, SCHAUB
RB: GORE, P. THOMAS, L. JOHNSON, SPROLES, MCGAHEE
WR: FITZGERALD, BOWE, L. MOORE, T. HOLT
TE: GONZALEZ, H. MILLER
K: HARTLEY
DEF: PHILLY

I was thinking about dropping Holt and picking up Devin Hester from waivers, especially since I have Cutler. Then again, Holt is the Jags #1 receiver and has a chancce to put up numbers. Also, available on the waiver wire is: Ray Rice, Chris Chambers, Ted Ginn Jr., Michael Jenkins, Mark Clayton, Deion Branch, Macklin, Ray Rice, R. Mendenhal, Muhsin Muhammed, Kevin Curtis, DH Bey and others. Tell me what you think.

I think I'd stand pat for now with Holt,at least until training camp and see how he is working out.I would drop McGahee for Rice though

I agree. In a 10 teamer the last WR spot is easily replaceable. I think Hester will improve but his hands are suspect and the Bears are not going to start throwing the ball down the field a dozen times each game which is Hester's strength, getting deep and behind the defense.

I also would take Holt over Hester at this point and time, but keep a close eye on it, i mean the 4th WR in a 10 team 2WR set doesn't get used often enough anyways, but keep an eye on it... and i do agree also with dumping Willis for Ray, coming into training camp Rice is the starter, and McGahee knows it as he has come public saying its Rice's job to lose...

help me out...
