WHAT'S NEW
There's a "Man-Genius" in town, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Browns are ready to make up for last year's fantasy flops.
Eric Mangini, fired by the Jets this offseason, replaces Romeo Crennel in Cleveland and has the daunting task of turning around a team that went 4-12 in 2008. He and his new staff will have to accomplish that improbable feat without significant upgrades at any position. If Mangini can do that, he'll finally earn that hyperbolic nickname.
One-hit wonder Derek Anderson, who burned fantasy owners with a terrible '08 season to follow up his career year, is expected to back up Brady Quinn at quarterback. But neither of those shaky QBs figures to help Braylon Edwards bounce back from a season that fell well short of his breakout '07.
And, yes, Jamal Lewis and his bum ankle are still around, which is good news for no one. The only familiar fantasy face missing from the Browns is Kellen Winslow, who's now with Tampa Bay. That's one less reason for fantasy owners to pay attention to Cleveland.
The only good news is that if you were burned by Browns last year, there's little chance that you can buy too high on them again this season.
