Thats a tough call. I have been playing the RB late 1st vs top WR all year.
Its almost a total coin flip but I want to say AJ. He could be the #1 WR at year end. Moss could be #1 as well. This is a total toss up and comes down to which QB does not get hurt =). PPR AJ.
VS Gore: Thats tough. I think i would rather have AJ or Moss with Portis,Slaton,Barber rather than Gore with Colston,Smith,TO.
actually i was able to trade up in round 2 so should be able to get a Jennings, Wayne, Barber , Portis or someone like that in the early 2nd. Maybe even Manning or Brady.
10 team league (20 keepers and i pick #6). i think my choice will be Gore, AJ, or Moss at #6 my keepers are Deangelo Williams and Roddy white, fwiw
Since it's this year only and no PPR, no question about it...Randy Moss. (Andre Johnson gets a lot of receptions but not that many TDs) Thoughts on mine please: viewtopic.php?t=438907
We'll have to know exactly who is available, since you mention that it is a two person keeper league. However, straight up, I would take Moss over AJ in a non-PPR league, slightly, and vice versa in a PPR league, slightly. Both have potential for a huge year and #1 overall, but Moss is on the better defense, and is still an absolute freak that set the record for TDs, and probably the best FF WR non-PPR season record since the advent of FF in his ONLY season with Brady so far, so his upside is even higher than AJ. Why will this pick be yours for only this year? It would take a miracle to get White to be more keepable than either of these two after 2009/2010 is all said and done...
As far as taking either over Gore in a non-PPR league... I would probably play it safe and take Gore here, given the fact that you have an easy top-ten WR in White already, and Gore could outproduce DeAngelo this year if he stays healthy and DeAngelo comes down hard enough from what will probably be his career year(at least with Stewart in town). You would be entering the fourth round with either Gore, Williams and White, or Williams, White and Moss/AJ.
Thanks to eagles21 for the awesome sig
2011:
Representin' the Cafe in the IBL league: 73-34, 15-8 in Championship Tier playoffs BBKL: 7-6 Money league: 9-4, #1 seed one and done
in answer to the questions:We can only keep 2 players and players can only be kept once. We keep them in the round they were drafted in so these early round picks usually dont have as good keeper values. So i look at these as only 1 year players. We start 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, k, Def
Best available players back in the draft are: AP, Turner, LT, SJax, Moss, AJ, GOre, Manning, Brady, Portis, barber, Westbrook, Jennings, Wayne, SSmith
im picking at #6 and #12 and will be able to add 2 of these players. i need 1 Rb and 1 WR unless i can steal Peyton in round 2. I have noticed in mock drafts that Wrs are thin this year and my teams come out alot better with a top WR early and pick up several starting Rbs in the middle rounds like Pierre, Bush, Brown, etc.
I think even with a PPR you still go Randy Moss. Moss is cocky this year and when he talks he usually backs it up. Brady is back in the fold and IMO they won't miss a beat. They play Buffalo week 1 on Prime Time and Brady and Moss will light them up with probably a couple TDs and won't look back. My predictions for Moss this year is 90 rec 1450 and 17 TDs. Andre will be good but like the other guys said too, he doesn't score many TDs. Even last year he had a monster season but only scored 8 or so TDs. A couple of them came at the very end of the season where some leagues don't even count. Gore in my book is over rated. Every year he is a top prospect because of his '06 numbers and lets people down. Go Moss!!
Im a big fan of AJ, but you have to go with Moss on this one especially with Brady back. Scheduling is the biggest factor to me, of course they play the Jets, Phins, and Bills 6 times and should runaway with the AFC East. They also play the Jaguars, Falcons, Broncos, Saints, and Texans. Aside from MAYBE the Jets, that 10 games against the lower tier defenses in the league. The Pats also have the offensive balance to give Moss the room to put up big numbers.
