Dynasty trade = My 1st rd pick and Palmer for Rivers?

Got an offer tossed to me and looking for some thoughts.

Last year was the first year for the 12 team dynasty league, and every year after will have a 3 round draft... for remaining free agents and rookies.

I have the 5th overall pick in this years mini draft and it is a non-serpentine order. The other team has the #1 overall pick (in all 3 rounds).

The team offered me Rivers for my Palmer and 5th round pick. The other team has Westbrook and I am assuming McCoy will be there with the #5 pick.

The other team only has Garcia at QB on his roster.

Besides the rookies... the FA market isn't very deep for mini draft. Some notable QBs available - Bulger, SHill, Collins, Rosenfels, Thigpen, DAnderson, Leftwich, Henne

My thoughts... it would be nice to land Rivers, but I am speaking bc I had to deal with Palmer's injury all last season. Who knows what he'll give this year... but could be pretty good.

I don't have any issues with swapping the QBs and tossing in 1 of my 3 mini draft picks... but not sure if I should give up my top pick (#5 overall).

Should I counter? If so, for what? I'll have picks 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 to work with, while he has 1.1, 2.1, and 3.1.

I'd counter Palmer and 2.5 for Rivers, but I would accept the original offer if you could not "low-ball' the other owner.

Rivers is a top 5 dynasty QB(easily) and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Rivers, AP, CJ, Andre and Colston would be hard to top in a 12-team dynasty.

To play counterpoint-rivers is only 2 years younger than palmer, the chargers D should be vastly improved this year, meaning i don't think he's throwing 478 balls again, and i think they get back to running the football, something they have done very well historically. i expect good things from him for sure, but i believe a dropoff is in order. also, there's a chance with your 1.5 pick that if someone takes crabtree at #3 or #4 overall you'd have a shot at brown or mccoy.

that said, your team is primed to win now, and rivers would certainly add some stability to your QB position. i would see if the guy who proposed it will throw in his 2.1, and then consider pulling the trigger.

I give my 2.5 and Palmer for his Rivers.
I give my 1.5 and Palmer for his 2.1 and Rivers.

Update.... the owner was interested in my counters but with his roster he is looking for that #5 pick. So he is back to his initial offer. My 1.5 and Palmer for Rivers.

But............. just got another offer from a different team. His 1.3 draft pick for my Royal.

If I end up trading my 1.5 in the other deal... then I could get the 1.3 in our rookie/FA draft for Royal.

I still like the other deal, because I could use the upgrade at QB... but thoughts about my Royal for 1.3 pick?

Make 1 deal, or both??
