im in a league that gives points for return yards. not a lot...a point every 35 yards....but it helps. and makes some of these low end guys usable....especially bc its a 14 team league with a flex
so every year i go through and try and get at least one guy who gets that extra value that might not be seen by others in the league
so here is a list of some guys who got extra return value from last year...any thoughts on them for this year or any sleepers going into this year would be great. i realize this may be too early, and we might have to wait until preseason..but im bored at work and figure id post it before i forget
WR
Breaston
Jonnie Lee Higgins
Devin Hester
Eddie Royal
Ted Ginn Jr
DeSean Jackson
Wes Welker
Santonio Holmes
obviously some of these guys are being drafted high already...but i was surprised to see Royal with so many return yards...although i could see that number going down or completely taken away. Is Hester still a returner?
RB
MJD
Leon Washington
Norwood
Pierre Thomas
feliz jones
johnathan Stewart(im going to try and have him be called The Daily Show from now on...pass it on)
Fred Jackson
Reggie Bush
im pretty sure Pierre Thomas wont be returning kicks anymore, and bush, mjd and The Daily Show are already drafted high. but im looking hard at Leon Washington if he continues to return kicks. he's already sort of valuable...and if he gets this bonus he could bring good value. same with Felix Jones

Alphonso Smith may get some of the return duties in Denver. Depends how he looks in camp, and whether McDaniels wants to save Royal for the offense. Now they have healthy RBs, one of them may get the kick return gig, leaving Royal or Smith for the punt return. Since the Broncos gave up a first rounder for Smith, they may as damn welll get the kid involved. Short of it is that I wouldnt count on Eddie giving you too much in the return game at this stage as it is not clear how much he will be involved.

Does Darren Sproles return kicks for the Chargers? I could see his production in the offense increasing as well.

25 yards per point is not a huge deal.
It's a bonus for players who already get on the field like Ted Ginn, Devin Hester, and Eddie Royal. Most kick returner RBs don't score enough standard points to be startable in 25 yards per point system, however elite guys like Leon Washington, Darren Sproles, and Jerious Norwood probably see enough value boost to be a decent RB2 in most weeks even with a minimal stat line. Kick returning is much more of a factor in 10 yards per point leagues.
