Who do I take #1? AP is a stud, but very little rec. MJD gets rec's, but hasn't played full time. Forte is solid, but should get less touches this season. I'm leaning towards MJD, but it is tough to pass on AP, and Forte plays for the Bears (my fav. team). Or do I go outside the box and grab a WR (Fitz).
I know there is already a thread on this topic, but I wanted your input. Thanks.

also count C.J, D.Williams, R.White,A.Rordgers, D.Bowe,F.Jones, Slaton and maybe P.Thomas all kept + some.
I did some numbers and from 05-06 was like 20 of 24 all RB's. 07-08 draft was about half and half. RB's vs QB/WR was split. My thoughts are this. If I can land a top 6 Pick get a top RB. If I am toward the bottem lock up FItz/AJ/MOSS. If I can get two of them do it and get RB"s later. OR get guys like Jacobs,Portis,Barber,Westy, and then get S.Smith,Colston, calvin, in the 2nd round.
Thoughts?
First off, I do agree about keeping Gonzalez over Cutler...there will be a plethora of QBs available so there's no need to waste your keeper spot on one.
It's not a terrible thing to try to project who might be available for you but don't fall into the trap of cornering yourself into drafting a certain position if you're in a certain part of the draft. The only guys that could be considered first round caliber players are Johnson and Williams so chances are you can get a 1st round caliber RB no matter where you are in the 1st round. I'd probably look to grab a RB in the 1st unless there is really nothing there you like and then I'd look at some of the WRs. I like Moss the most personally...I have it Moss then AJ then Fitz but most have it in different orders. I would strongly dissuade you from taking 2 WRs there though...you would be taking some big risks in hoping some RBs would still be there when you drafted again and you'd probably have to spend a good deal of picks on RBs in the mid rounds to make sure you're going to have enough depth.
Ek wrote:Ok, I have the first overall pick in my upcoming keeper league draft, as well as the fourth pick in the second round (16th overall). Everyone keeps three players, .4 PPR, otherwise the scoring is pretty normal. Start QB/2RB/2WR/Flex/TE/K/D. My keepers at present are Tom Brady, Chris Johnson, and Clinton Portis. I'm thinking of going with an RB for the flex and a WR with those two picks. The better guys available (after keepers):
RBs: Pierre Thomas Knowshon Moreno Willie Parker Kevin Smith Reggie Bush Derrick Ward Larry Johnson Julius Jones Beanie Wells
WRs: Houshmanzadeh Welker Dwayne Bowe Owens Brandon Marshall Vincent Jackson Braylon Edwards Antonio Bryant Roy Williams Ochocinco
I am leaning towards taking a WR with the pick, which means I could get someone in the Housh/Welker/Bowe range for my WR1 but probably end up with someone in the low-end starter/high-end backup range as my RB3. Or, I could take Pierre Thomas, who I actually kind of like this year, and hope to piece together a competent WR core in the 2nd-5th (really 5th-8th due to the keepers) rounds. Thoughts?
Well, I think I'd probably take a WR with that pick personally. It's awfully tempting to take Thomas there as I do like him as well and think he would be an excellent flex RB for you but I think the likelihood of one of those RBs dropping to you is much higher for the 2nd round than one of the WRs who could be very good PPR guys like Housh or Welker. I'd personally take one of those 2 guys...I think Marshall would be in contention too if he didn't have so much hanging over his head that can be viewed as nothing but risk...with just .4 PPR I'd probably take Housh as I think he has more potential for true WR1 numbers this season.
At the next pick I'd be looking at someone like Ward, Parker, Smith or Johnson...although I think you could maybe even get someone like Johnson in the 3rd round...but I wouldn't risk not taking a RB for your flex there as you'll still be needing to take guys for depth as well.

One of the guys in my league traded off a running back so he's down to one real starter. A really good one though (MJD). Behind him he has leon washington, felix jones and tashard choice. Do you think there's any way to go RBs for RB without trading off Gore for him? Say, if I went Addai, Jones, and Bush or Rice? Probably sounds cracked out but if it worked it would be awesome.
He's starting Brees, Rivers(as a general offensive player), Greg Jennings, Roddy White, and Chris Cooley.
I highly doubt you'd get MJD from him without dealing Gore...I know I wouldn't even consider something like that if I was that owner and chances are you'll be overpaying if you want to get someone like MJD right now who has his value being sky high. I'd inquire at what he would be interested in but if you don't deal Gore, chances are you'll have to include one of your other top players and it will be more than just RBs for a RB trade.

The following are FAs: Tampa QBs, Bronco QBs, C-Pep, Ratliff, Garcia, Brennan (always high o nhim), VY (any upside left?) Greg Jones, Brian Leonard, Jerome Harrison, Lorenzo Booker, Sammy Morris, Caddy, Deshawn Wynn, Mike Hart, Maurice Morris, Chris Henry, Ryan Torain (any value left in him)?, Xavier Oman, Clowney, Gaffney, Higgins, Northcutt, Bennett, Robinson, Cribbs, Curry, Smith, Walker, Stallworth, Jacob Jones, Craig Davis, Brad Cottam, Jermichael Finley, Martin Rucker (high on him), Kevin Boss
What changes?
By Bronco QBs do you mean Kyle Orton is still out there? If so you need to grab him immediately...no reason he should be out there. I think I'd rather have Brennan than McGee personally...mainly because I do like him as well and I think that with you owning Campbell it only makes sense to have him as well.
At RB, I'd grab Jerome Harrison immediately and drop one of your WRs...plenty of options there on who so I'd definitely do that. Word is that Harrison will factor in a lot this season even with Lewis starting and I could even see him overtaking him at some point. Other than him...I don't really like any of the RBs available that much, maybe Sammy Morris as a possibility but probably not worth grabbing yet.
Personally, I don't like any of the WRs out there but if there are some guys you are high on, you definitely have some players I would deem "expendable" so just go for it. Might as well have the guys you're high on rostered now.

First off...there is NO WAY you even consider grabbing a WR here. It would be a horrific pick.
That being out of the way, here's what I think about the guys you're considering there.
Peterson - Yes, he doesn't catch many passes which hurts him in PPR leagues...but the reason he's still worth that top pick in leagues like this is because you essentially know that he will produce. He will get his 350+ touches even without receptions and there's virtually no chance he doesn't get double digit TDs and it's a decent bet that he could break through and get closer to 15+ TDs here this season as well.
Jones-Drew - He's got plenty of upside and he'll catch a good deal of passes...but there's an awful lot of risk (at least in my eyes) involved. Obviously you share some of this viewpoint if you're uneasy about just grabbing him as the #1 guy which some people seem to be happy to do, but I'll elaborate nonetheless. He's never carried the full load before...and while some might underestimate this fact...it's vital you don't. Even getting 5-7 more touches per game, all season can have a monstrous impact on a RBs ability to stay healthy. Just look at someone like Marion Barber last season who had an eerily similar change in role from one season to the next that MJD will have this year as an example. His production per touch has already been declining each season he's been in the league so I would be a bit concerned that he won't be able to keep up his high level of production per touch and that he may not be able to stay healthy should he get a bunch more touches.
Forte - The biggest issue I have with Forte is that he's nowhere near in the same class talent wise as the other RBs being considered here. His production per touch from a yardage standpoint last season was horrendous...sub 4.0 ypc average and even though he had double digit TDs, his production doesn't quite instill the greatest confidence should he not get a huge workload yet again. That in and of itself, along with the QB change and likely a drop in receptions, is enough to rule him out here.
Another guy I would consider (although most won't) is LT in a full PPR league. He's always had 50+ receptions and he's a TD machine who has proven he can carry the load year after year (even last season playing all 16 games with turf toe...an injury most players can't even play a full game with). He was top 5 in PPR even being injured last season and I think that he has a legitimate shot of being the #1 PPR back this year.
That being said, I'd take ADP. I think that at the #1 spot you go with the guy with the smallest bust potential...biggest reason is that you can't afford to have your top player bust when you don't choose again until the end of the 2nd round. Take ADP and be happy with the consistent production you can expect from easily one of the most talented RBs in the league.
would you trade brandon jacobs + lee evans for chris johnson? or brandon jacobs for steve slaton straight up?
my league is non-ppr, 1pt/10 yards rushing/receiving, 6pt rushing/receiving TD
my team
QB: Arron Rodgers WR: Roddy White WR: Roy Williams WR: Lee Evans RB: Adrian Peterson RB: B. Jacobs TE: G. Olsen BENCH RB: Derrick Ward RB: A. Bradhsaw WR: Kevin Walter WR: Torry Holt QB: M. Cassel
hammertoes wrote:I'm in a 10 team league, standard scoring, NO PPR, 6pts for all TD's. 5pt bonus for 350+ passing, 3pt bonus for 150+ rushing or recieving
We can all keep up to 4 players in the rounds they were drafted.
My current keepers: Andre Johnson (2) Clinton Portis (4) Marion Barber (8) Larry Johnson(15)
Another owner offered me Peyton Manning (1), Deangelo Williams (16), and 6.06 for AJ, Barber, and Jason Witten (13) who I was going to drop anyway.
Would you make this trade?
My new keepers would probably be: Manning (1) Portis (4) DWill (16) Larry Johnson (15)
I'd probably go WR with my first 3 picks in rounds 2, 3, & 5.
What do yo u think? Thanks in advance Matt!
I think I would keep what you have. Manning is nowhere near worth a 1st round pick and while DWill is nice value in the 16th, I think he has potential to be a bust this year after his huge breakout season that dwarfed anything else he's ever done as a RB in this league. I liked the values you have pre-trade with AJ in the 2nd (solid value), Portis in the 4th (great value), Barber in the 8th (ridiculous value), and Johnson in the 15th (huge upside for a guy that late). Unless you're going to be getting a top tier RB, I think you have to stand pat with what you have.
OK, so if I was keeping AJ, Portis, and MB3, who should I make my fourth keeper?
Tony Romo (10), Jason Witten (13), Larry Johnson (16), or Kurt Warner (16)?
If I could trade for Pierre Thomas (16), would you keep him over the others?
I kow that Brees, Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Rivers, Cutler, and Ryan are being kept. I don't think any TE's are being kept, and obviously, almost all the top RB's are being held over.
1. Someone offered me to trade picks for the entire draft of a redraft league. I have pick 8 and he has pick 5 in a 10 team league. The league is PPR, 0.5 points for RB and 1.0 for WR/TE. What position do you think is better? I'd like to go RB/RB, at 5 I would be targeting LT/Sjax and Portis/Barber, at 8 I was hoping to get both Gore and Slaton.
I like the idea of getting LT or Jackson but my concern is the 3rd and 4th rounds. With pick 8 i was thinking i could get 2 ppr beasts there such as Bowe and Welker. At 5 i can get a better WR in round 3 but round 4 i think the WR depth might be thin.
