Are either a good option at RB in a Dynasty League? I'm trying to solidify my roster going into this upcoming season of a dynasty league, and could use a 3rd RB to do so.
I have the 10th overall pick in the re-draft/rookie draft, and could always hope a potential stud RB rookie drops to me (probably looking at Wells or Moreno at this point to add to their counterparts), or trade it away for a RB. These were the two deals thrown out to me.
Deal #1: I get Addai for my 10th overall pick. Deal #2: I get Stewart and his 3rd round pick for my 10th overall and V Jackson
The main thing about this league is that we can only add one player every three weeks from FA. So I pretty much want to get a decent to good squad set up before the season. Our redraft is about 5 rounds before the season starts, and I have at least 4 or 5 guys that I could drop and replace.
To go along with rookies, other available players in the pool are: Fred Jackson, Domenik Hixon, Visanthe Shiancoe, Mark Clayton, Antwaan Randle El, Bobby Wade, Brandon Stokely, Dennis Northcutt, Byron Leftwich, Tavaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels...
Here's my team: 14 Team H2H Dynasty League. Bold are the players I'm currently thinking of dropping during the draft; italics are possibilities.
QB Aaron Rodgers WR1 Roddy White WR2 Marques Colston WR3 Vincent Jackson RB1 Maurice Jones-Drew RB2 Clinton Portis TE Heath Miller W/R Santana Moss Bench Tim Hightower Bench Ryan Torain Bench Brady Quinn Bench Ryan Fitzpatrick Bench Bobby Engram Bench Brandon Jackson Bench Amani Toomer
K Adam Vinatieri
D Aaron Kampman D Terrell Suggs D Adalius Thomas D EJ Henderson DB Antonio Cromartie DB Chris Gamble Bench Mike Peterson Bench Channing Crowder Bench Dwight Smith
So, basically, should I bother trading that pick for Addai or Stewart? Or maybe I should try and target a different RB to trade for? Or just hold onto it and hope to grab a good RB option at the 10th spot (Chris Wells could handcuff perfectly with Hightower).
the way i see it, you're giving up your 10th overall for j. stewart or addai, so which would you rather have?
given that stewart (in a RBBC) outscored addai (as a feature back), and now addai is in a committee (with his replacement), i think you have to go with stewart.
add in the fact that this is a dynasty and stewart is younger, and it makes the case even stronger.

Well, it's my 10th overall and Vincent Jackson for Stewart and his 3rd round. I could move VJax, but it would create a thin WR line for me since after White/Colston/Moss I'd have Engram...

Get him 2 do it for his 2nd instad of his 3rd and cut the deal for Stewart. Addai was a product of a very good offensive team, he was never a good RB. Stewart is very, very good and can have a long FF career. Jackson can be replaced at some point.

He is. Because of the rules, I still have the rights to Toomer (and Dwight Smith). So, if either signs, I have first crack at them. However, those are the first two I will most likely be dropping since they're dead weight. Fitzpatrick is the other certainty, while Engram and Jackson might end up going as well.

I inquired about his 2nd instead of his 3rd, and he said that he would need another player in return along with Jackson and my 1st. Not really hoping to do that, unless he wants a scrub, but I doubt that..
