Keeper advice, WHIR

12-team league, we get to keep 2 players: 1 from round 1-3 and another from rounds 4-FA from last year. Standard scoring with 6 points for passing TDs.

For the tier 1 keeper I have the followng choices:
Frank Gore
Tony Romo
Terrell Owens
Marques Colston (via '08 trade)

I am fairly comfortable with Gore. The other tier 1 players available are owned by users who wan way too much. I don't think it's worth it to trade for say Randy Moss an lose my 3rd round pick (after keepers, so 5th really) when I have the 4th overall pick in the draft and have a great shot at picking him up. Makes the other guy's team too strong, in my opinion. Anyone disagree?

The BIG question I have is concerning the tier 2 keeper (rounds 4-FA). Here is what I have:
Jonathan Stewart
LenDale White
Kevin Walter
Vincent Jackson
Chris Cooley

Of that group I would go with Stewart, however I am very tempted to trade for a couple players that are available, picks are noted after keepers:

Drew Brees (would cost me pick 3.04 for Brees and pick 13.12)
Calvin Johnson (would cost me pick 3.04 for Johnson and pick 13.12)
Roddy White (would cost me pick 3.04 for White and pick 4.04)

I don't like the idea of giving up my 3rd round pick, even if it is for a stud like Brees or Johnson. It gives last year's champ (who is keeping ADP and DeAngelo Williams) a lot of power. However, Stewart is in a time-share and isn't that attractive.

Anyone hve ANY advice? I will help in return and greatly appreciate any input.

Tough spot to be in. I would probably do the deal to get Brees. I know Calvin is very good but 1st year Qbs usually struggle and the Lions O-line won't help Stafford or C-Pep.

Too bad you can't keep 2 top tier guys but with 6pt tds for QBs it'll be a nice advantage to have Brees.

I would make the Brees move as well. You dont lose tons by dropping just 8 spots in the 3rd round, especially if you weigh it like this:

Brees and dropping 8 spots in the draft v. J. Stew with unknown

To me it really is a no brainer. I would have said either of the other two WRs would have been a benefit, but I like having Brees more since he is there.

Can you help with mine - viewtopic.php?t=439113

Forget Brees.

Who do you think the 3.04 will net you? YOu mentioned Moss but what RB's will be available? Would also like to know your starting req's.

I love Calvin and I just don't think any of thsoe deal are worth doing.
