Dynasty league trade question - Breaston S. Moss involved

Postby kyguy78 » Thu Jul 30, 2009 1:47 pm

I've won my league three of the last four years and after trades I have the 3rd and 10th picks in our rookie draft in the first round. I've been offered the following trade:

I give: 1st round 10th pick & Santana Moss

I get 2nd round 8th pick & Steve Breaston

I'm leaning toward taking it because I think Breaston has more value in a dynasty league than Moss, plus I can still get a decent player eight slots later. What do you guys think?

My roster;

QB: Rivers, Delhomme, Brohm
RB: Chris Johnson, SJax, DeAngelo, Addai, LJ, Sproles
WR: Calvin Johnson, Jennings, S. Moss, Mark Bradley, Galloway
TE: Daniels, Chris Baker, Celek

In no way do I see Breaston being a better solution than Moss. Santana was on the edge of a No 2 WR last season with over 1000 yards and 6 tds. If he gets more looks as they are talking about shifting focus to him as a #1, he could be almost a lock starter.

Then Breaston only really thrived with Bolden out. Sure there is some promise, but Warner is getting older and are you really sold in a keeper with the AZ QB situation, especially with Fitz and Bolden still there as top dawgs.

I would hold onto my top pick and Moss unless you were able to get more than a lesser WR and lower pick. To me the trade would make more sense if the WRs were flipped.

I agree with this.
