Help with 3rd Keeper option

Postby wagsgt » Fri Jul 31, 2009 11:55 am

We keep 2 with option of 3rd and which forfeits 1st round pick. The second round does not start from bottom(snake).

1st- Larry Fitz
2nd- Chris Johnson

I have Westbrook and Reggie Wayne also. I could keep one of them or drop them both and get a first round pick. I pick 7th out of 10.

Westbrook and Wayne will probably be the best options at 7 based on your league format. I would keep Westbrook.

Since you already have teams keeping two players, the draft already starts in the third round. I'm assuming you can start three WRs as well. I personally think you should keep Wayne. That would leave you with 3 of my top 6 WRs in Wayne, Calvin and Fitz. You rarely see that.
A win next week and all is forgotten.

I have a feeling that C. Johnson is actually Chris Johnson. If it is Calvin then Wow! Hopefully you're in a PPR league. I would keep Wayne, Fitz, and either Calvin or Chris. I doubt you'll be able to top either guy with a 1st round pick unless you pick top 5 and even then it'll be hard to get a guy with a round 2 ADP. Westy's ankles and age scare me too much to recommend keeping him. Go ahead and post your scoring and verify which CJ we're talking about.

Not sure which C. Johnson you are keeping, but I guess we can rule out Chad Johnson. I think with the 7th pick in the 1st rd of your draft I would keep either Wayne or Westy, all depending on which C. Johnson you are keeping. If if is Calvin I think I would keep Westy to guarantee you a quality rb. Good luck.

Sorry Guys, its Chris Johnson. We only get 1 point per every 5 reception. 1 point per 10 yds rush/recieve
Only one ahead of me keeping 3 so there are 5 picks ahead of me and 2 behind. So if I keep 3 I would have the 14th overall pick in second round. I think its safe to say neither westbrook or wayne would be still there after 13 picks

With the added info I still say you keep Fitz, Wayne and Chris Johnson. Since all 3 are legit 1st or 2nd rounders you can't lose. Do you have an idea of who the 5 players in the picks ahead of you are? If you think you can get a better player than Wayne then go for it but I can't imagine someone dropping a player that good unless their team was just stacked last year.

Im going by CBS top 200 list. The only guy that will be there is Steve Slaton, then its westbrook, then wayne, then greg jennings.

RB breakdown,
Slaton is only person ahead of west brook

WR breakdown:
Reggie Wayne is highest avail wr

Wayne is a late 2nd round pick in most re-draft formats.

I don't trust Westy as far as I can throw him. Love the guy but not his chances for 2009.

Wayne is worth giving up your 6th overall pick. Like you said, he is best available WR... he won't get to you at 1.6. So he presents value to you in lieu of your 1.6.

Good luck! ;-D

Definately keep Wayne.........WR's last longer and this guy has never been hurt. You can almost guarantee you'll be starting him at WR1 every game this year and next 5 years. Or get Westbrook for a few years at the most. Not even close.
