4 Options - Salary Cap League

Postby dannydubs12 » Sat Aug 01, 2009 11:52 am

My RB situation is a little dicey. I have Turner, Fargas, Norwood. I have the first two draft picks in the rookie draft and will be taking Moreno and Wells. But until one of them pans out and I can feel comfortable starting, I need a second running back.

Option 1--Pickup Jamal Lewis in FA and try to snag J. Davis in the rookie draft.
Option 2--Pickup Fred Jackson for the first 3 weeks to start, then plug in Moreno or Wells after they get in the swing.
Option 3--Go after the tandem of Derrick Ward/Earnest Graham in free agency.
Option 4--Trade 1.01 for Thomas Jones and 1.04 and then draft Shonne Greene. Solid option in Jones short term with Greene most likely taking over later in the year and for the future.

Moreno or Wells will be starting by Week 4 so I like option 2. I like Wells in about week 6 when the job should be all his and when he'll start making people wonder why Moreno was getting picked before him.

Option 2 is actually very convenient for you. IT does run the risk of both Moreno ans Wells still sucking even as starters and then you are jammed.

I like option 1 the most as long as it is cheap. I am liking James Davis more and more and have drafted him in most dynasty leagues. The issue with that one is will he outright replace Jamal or will the y RBBC for the rest of the year. I am not sure.

Safest option is securing Ward as i think he is hands down the best back they have and I don't think Graham makes a huge cut into his numbers. I think Ward is a solid purchase regardless of you situation as long as he won't break your bank
