K Winslow in a PPR/Keeper(unlimited keepers if desired)

Postby pinebluffracing » Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:52 am

I have Winslow in a Keeper league that is also a ppr. I have six keepers that i know i'll like ahead of him, but i am perplexed whether or not i should keep Winslow as my number seven (meaning i'd have to give up my 7th round pick). Ahead of winslow is AP 1st, Jacobs 2nd, B marshal 3rd, T Romo 4th, J Addia 5th, and finally V Jackson as my number six. I feel solid with these six guys, but comment on them too please if you think that is a solid first six or not please in this ppr/keeper situation. I don't know what draft position i'm in because we determine that at the draft.

Some of the guys i planned to drop after winslow is J carlson, Shaub, a morris and sidney rice and m bush. i could keep all of them if i wanted. Shaub might actually be rated higher than winslow ???

Schaub would be an elite backup for Romo should Romo struggle without TO's services. Schaub is an injury risk, but he's a top fantasy QB when he's healthy. Also, due to positional value, I would say that Schuab could easily be kept over Winslow if you think it's likely you'll be able to land a serviceable TE in the draft.

Carlson is a good TE but he's a step below Winslow and not worth consideration over him IMO. And M. Bush has a wealth of talent (and is, in my mind, always a good sleeper pick) but you have to wonder when he's going to get his chance. When he does, you're going to want him, but you can probably afford to let him go then get him cheaply back in the draft.

I would actually keep all 7. I like the value you're getting from each one except for maybe Romo. The problem is that I don't like the values for the later guys if you didn't keep Romo, so keeping him and then possibly trading him since you have Schaub would make the most sense to me. As for KWII, I would keep him as a 7 as that is right around where he would go normally. I would also keep Schaub as an 8 because that is amazing value for him in my opinion. This means that you won't start drafting until the 9th, but you would have the following already locked up.

QB - Romo with Schaub as a backup.
RB - AP and Jacobs as your 1-2 with Addai as your 3 which is very nice.
WR - Marshall and VJax as your 1-2. This is a little concerning considering Marshall's situation but I think it's the best case scenario for you right now.
TE - KWII

Anyone who walked into a draft and came out with that would feel more than ok and I don't see why you wouldn't either. The only possible moves I would try to make would be to possibly move Romo since you can rely on Schaub and use Romo to upgrade another position, preferably Marshall at WR.

I would keep those 7 too. They are your best options.

Would you pair Romo and Marshal for a move or just offer up Romo for a WR?

And was J Carlson's performance at the end of last year a fluke? He helped get me to the championship game.
