From a fantasy standpoint what's going on in the Dallas backfield? I have Barber and Portis but can only keep 1, standard scoring 10 man league. Who would you keep here?

Thats tough. They are ranked neck and neck. MBIII is a lock for 1000yrd and 10TD where Portis could get you more yards but less TD.

I would go with MBIII. He was on pace for 1500yrds 15TD last year before Fleix went out and he got banged up. He is a sure lock closer. He will split time with Fleix but then in the 3rd/4th close the game out. 100% goal line back and TD machine.

portis will share the load 60-40 70-30 and does not get in the red zone as much....

I have Portis 3-4 spots ahead of Barber... Felix is very good and may cut deeper into Barbers number then people think.

agreed Portis is ranked higher then MB3 in my books... Barber is going to loose touches to Felix and not only that but i believe Choice will steal some too... ive heard talks of his 'finisher' role from 2 years ago, i still say he surfaces around 1000 yd 10 TDs may be a little high but a good estimate... Portis is riding solo and looking healthier then last year, more yardage by quite a bit and not to shaby with TDs either...

Don't forget that while Barber will lose some carries to Felix, he may actually do BETTER with a few less carries. He always thrived in that closer role playing behind Julius Jones. Last year when Felix went out and he got all the carries, he wore out and got hurt. I think giving up carries to Felix will keep him fresh, and he will ultimately have a better year because of it.

I have Barber and Portis also. I am keeping both of them, but I am a bit nervous about Portis. I just have a gut feeling he's going to wear out this year.

Go with Barber.

He did well on a per touch basis as the closer but he still only has scored between 180 and 200 points in a year. If it is a good RB year then he is a RB15 type guy. I see little to no upside for him and for me in that RB10 to RB15 guy I want upside.
