When i pick RB's i look at many things mainly what type of offense are they in? Run or Pass? If they are in a pass first are they good outside of the back field? Do they have a decent QB and WR to avoid 8 man fronts? How good is the O Line?
Based on those things i think Slaton is in the best situation out of the 3. He will face the least resistance on the line thanks to having Schaub and great WR's. He also has an under rated O Line. He also is great out of the backfield! Johnson is a talented guy and has the biggest upside but lacks a good situation his QB is old and with no real threats downfield that means teams can focus more on the run. Gore for me is also in the same situation as CJ altho albeit has a little better QB and WR's.
Just my 2 Cents tho...
QB Vick, Schaub RB Rice, Gore, Brad, Hightow, Jacobs WR V Jax, M Will T, Ocho, Marsh, Maclin TE [b]Lewis[/b}
I like Gore- he's a featured back in a run-oriented offense with the best schedule. Slaton is a bit small and Johnson is in a RBBC. What say you?
Gore is listed at 5'9" 217
Slaton is listed at 5'9" 215 (2 lbs less than Gore)
CJ4.24 is listed at 5'11" 200
I don't see why everyone keeps saying Slaton is small...
It is a tough choice, but I would have to agree with a lot of what Patty said and pick Slaton out of the three. I just like the HOU offense the best and the fact that they feed him the rock inside the redzone. They will also be there more often than SF and TENN. HOU has the best QB of the three and the better passing game. This equals to less stacked fronts and more scoring opportunities.
Don't forget gore gets a good amount of REC yards too. Last year was his slump and he should get the rock a ton this year.
Gore should do this year what we all thought he would. Slaton is a LOCK for 1500total yards due to Rec yards....cant pass that up. CJ. White takes 10-15 TD"s and in better shape....I"ll pass.

True but one thing you have to take into account is that each upcoming year is a clean slate and in football nothing is a given!
Yes there are Curses and Superstitions but they are hit and miss. Fantasy football is all about oppertunity and execution. Weird things happen its unavoidable.
Sophomore Slumps/ Madden Covers its all just coincedences.
What about a few years back Curtis Martin exploding for the jets at age 35.
For all we know Javon Walker and Laurence Maroney come out of no where and resurect their carrers. Adrian Petereson tears his ACL in the first quater its all freakish.
The best you can do is study oppertunity and history and hope for good execution!
Out of the three.. Slaton has the best oppertuninty for Success
QB Vick, Schaub RB Rice, Gore, Brad, Hightow, Jacobs WR V Jax, M Will T, Ocho, Marsh, Maclin TE [b]Lewis[/b}
I like Slaton out of the three. Like others have said, Slaton has the biggest opportunity to produce. Rushing, receiving, goal Line carries, no competition; it's a given he will produce because him and AJ are the guys to go to in Houston.
Interesting, I never look on NFL.com I always use Yahoo and assume its all the same but take a look at these player profile links and its a big difference
First of all I wonder how much of a difference does size make if any for fantasy purposes? Height and Weight of a RB means what?? I wonder what the truth is well NFL should have all the right info on everybody but I never realized diff websites have different info....
But to answer the original question, in my draft I was targeting Gore and he was taken 2 spots in front of me so I took Slaton it was the 13th pick overall in a 10 team league
Well the Yahoo website was last updated for Slaton: Last updated through games completed on Feb 8, 2009. Couldn't find the date for when it was updated for NFL.com
