I'm the guy who still believes that a healthy LT is better than any other RB with the exception of ADP. MJD's value is too high to take that risk on him IMO and Forte's catches/touches are supposed to go down this year.
Of course, "healthy" is a key word here. But the bottom line is that even an injured LT ended up as 6th best RB. What more can you possibly ask for in terms of consistency.
Part of what makes the first few picks of the draft so valuable is you're getting a player that has consistency, talent and opportunity. I see all three from ADP and LT. I don't see those traits from MJD and Forte (and I say this knowing they certainly can be eventually considered all three).
I'm just going to throw this on to the end of Biju's post as to why LT should be the second RB off the board.

LT had turf toe the entire season last year and played through it, I don't think I've seen anyone do that. People who get turf toe miss 4 weeks easy, but yet LT played the entire season and on the last week of the season LT looked like the LT of the old averaging 6.9 YPC. LT has a career YPC of 4.4, if he gets the 320 carries that Norv Turner says he is going to get then that'll put him at 1400 yards and he hasn't had less than 10 touchdowns in any season since he joined the NFL. I think I would take 1400 yards and 10 touchdowns from my first pick. Plus, the league that I play in is a PPR league, I'll take 50+ receptions for 350+ yards and 2 - 3 touchdowns from my number one pick. I'd take a first round pick whose going to get me anywhere from 1300 - 1700 total yards, 50+ receptions and AT LEAST 10+ touchdowns.
Dawinner127 wrote:1. If you want to say that he's 30+, then by all means do so, But he JUST turned 30 in June. You're making out to seem like he is 32 or 33. 2. Last year's decline in stats was due to the turf toe. Like I said previously, this is the first time I have ever seen anyone play an entire season through turf toe. Week 17 when he was finally 90%+, it showed. 6.9 YPC and 3 TDs. 3. But yet, even with those injuries, he still managed to play and produce, but not to his level. But yet, he still manages to make everyone's top 5 or 6. 4. Why wouldn't they franchise a playmaker like Sproles. Whenever he touches the ball, something good is going to happen. Obviously they are going to try and get him the ball, but Norv said himself, he wants LT to get around 320 touches this year which would give him around 1400 total yards rushing if he averaged 4.4 YPC like has for his entire career. 5. He might be past his prime and did peak in 2006 - 2007, but the number's he put up in 2007 - 2008 landed him as the highest scoring RB in my league and last year he was ranked the 8th highest in my league even with playing through turf toe.
I would rather go with the top three. Memories of picking SA at #3, and then #5 overall in his nightmare seasons still haunt, and I'm sorry if I take the young stud over the slight upside of LT along with the risks, with an early first round pick. I can't see how Forte will not put up at least 2008 numbers with Cutler in town and zero substantial competition for carries. MJD is a monster in PPR leagues as well, and has averaged 1300/13 with 50 receptions with limited carries so far in his young career, and he is #1 this year, not #1a or #1b. He is due to see about a 20% increase in carries over last year, when he put up 1400/14 with 62 receptions.
I'd rather take the studs on the better side of 30.
Thanks to eagles21 for the awesome sig

SA wasn't even 30 when he fell off the cliff I think he was 28 maybe 29.
SA was a pretty good back in a good system with the best offensive line of that time.
What your not seeing is LT is a gaurenteed hall of famer. I remember a few years back when everyone said Curtis Martin was done after hitting 30.....what did he do?
I pretty sure he put up 1400+ yards and around 12+ TDs outproducing most of the younger guys taken ahead of him.
LT is in a whole different league from SA, they arn't even compareble
