LT vs SJAX

Postby Fooseball1 » Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:44 am

I had the 8th pick out of 10 teams but I entered the draft right after my turn so yahoo auto-picked LT over SJax who was still available for me. Both are good value to have available at the 8th draft pick tho.

Im not sure if thats good or bad cuz I am reading positive news on LT but I keep thinking to myself that I would have picked SJax over LT so what are your thoughts?

LT or SJax and why??

LT. SJax is a beast, when healthy, but he gets injured pretty much every single season. I think LT is a little safer this year, and I'd take him at #8 in a non-PPR redraft league.

LT would be a safe play, Sjax would be a higher upside IMO.

I have Sjax ranked 5th in RB LT 6th. They have a new o line and should do better than years past. If healthy Sjax kills it...

LT: We'll see. Alot of up and down on him. I think he will kill it. People are not sold becaues they expected 1700yrd 20TD last year and got 1500rush/rec yrds and like 14td .Still very nice.

LT safe..Sjax up side..your call. Hard to bet against LT though. Rivers,Gates,V.Jackosn. Great core around him. But Sjax is the main man with Avery soooo Should do well. But they all should if healthy.

LT is no doubt the safe play.

same dilemma I am having at the #5 spot. Both with good potential. Both with injury concerns. One doesn't split any carries, the other has an awful team. Hmmm...

i like SJax better this year. Both are equally susceptible to injury imo, but LT is approaching the RB dropoff point. And as i heard it put earlier on this board. RBs dont gradually decline, they drop off a cliff. I personally think LT has 1 more solid year, but id rather pass on him a year early than take him a year late.

LT by a landslide for me. I think he's got a lower floor and a higher ceiling for this year than SJax does. He's the featured back in a system well known for being a productive running back system (Norv Turner's offense) and considering that he was the #5 fantasy back last season despite being hurt all season (didn't even miss a game), think what a healthy and inspired LT can do this year. Word is that he's well aware of the perception that RBs who hit "30" have and he's going out of his way to make sure he takes care of himself to the point that he can beat the trend that seems to happen. There have been RBs to have beaten it and LT is really one of the most talented RBs we've ever seen in this league, he's also got one of the best work ethic's that we've seen too.

He's going to minimum get 300+ carries and 50+ receptions, his ypc will likely be back up higher again as it was lower than it has been in a very long time for him last season (injured) and he's always had double digit TDs (most of his career he's had 15+). Considering all that and the fact that Jackson missed more games last season than LT has in his entire career whether he's been injured or not and you gotta roll with LT here.
