Draft position?

Postby djacks » Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:06 pm

I get my choice of draft positions in my 12 team money league (non-keeper).

Do I take #1 and at least one stud RB or is the middle to late are more preferable? I'm really torn. Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

#4 is my preferred draft spot this year. AD, MJD, Forte, and Turner are pretty clearly the top 4 draft picks this year. In the first round, you'll get whoever falls to you from that group. Then in the second round you'll have a good shot at someone like Portis, Barber, or Westbrook. And ideally in the third round you'd be able to grab a top WR like Jennings, Steve Smith, Wayne, Roddy White, etc.

In a 12 team league, I'd take a core like that any day.

Seems like the "ppr" stipulation makes all the difference...since you didn't mention it, I assume it isn't in play. Shoot for close to the top, as already mentioned. BUT...if it's point per reception, I think that changes everything. This year is different than ever, given RBBC and the depth of impact WR. There is serious depth for guys that catch the ball, so I would take the bookend, #12 pick in a heartbeat. You get 2 solid, back to back guys that are going to be collectively more valuable than the guy who gets MJD and whoever else. The bookend advantage is there the rest of the way.
