I am in a ten team league where QB's are the leading scorers, therefore most valuable. They outscore other postions because their TDs equal the same amount of points as other positions and they get bonuses for 225 and 300 yds passing. I have the number 1 pick in the draft this season and I am going to either be drafting Drew Brees or Tom Brady. My head is telling me Brees because he's the clear-cut number one in everything I read, but my gut is telling me Brady will have a great year and outscore Brees.
I understand you get bouns points but think like this
Brees and K.Smith type vs A.P and Rodgers/Warner/Romo/McNabb
I would draft AP no doubt and get a QB in the 2nd/3rd round. Very few QB's throw for over 300yrds. I dont have the stats but somthing like it only happens like 5 times a year and Warner did it the most last year. I think. Meaning the main bounus is for 225yrs which any top 10 QB will hit just about every game. Let the other tards in your league go QB crazy while you lock up stud WR/RB. 10 teams...even if each team took a QB in the 1st round you would still get, Cutler,Palmer,Schaub type which is very good.
It doesn't matter if QBs get 50000 pts/td and RBs and WRs only get 6 pts/td, it does not increase the value of QBs. QB's are still valued the same versus other QBs and does not make them more scarce. You should stock pile stud RBs and WRs in the first 4 rounds while everyone else is drafting QBs and grab a QB in round 5 - 8. The dropoff from QBs in these rounds will be much less than the drop off for RBs in these rounds! Leagues are won by a solid RB and WR corps, not a QB. A QB should never be drafted in the first 2 rounds unless the league requires 2 starting QBs!
If you can pair two top WR's or a WR/RB with AP thats HUGE! What if R.Brown or P.Thomas falls to you....Pair that with AP and S.Smith or Boldin/Colston. Your set!!
I guess I forgot the most important part...We do start two QBs and I understand where everyone says AP but Brees outscored everyone else by a decent margin last season (don't remember exactly).

ADP is a must if you have the first pick of the draft. You can grab a QB in round two or round three that will put up similar number's to Brees/Brady, but you won't be able to grab a RB in round two or round three that will put up number's that are even remotely close to ADP.

How do you feel about drafting QB's in a league where they get 6 pts per TD pass? It ups their value a bit. In my PPR (.5 pts per reception) league, at least 1-2 QB's go in the 1st rd. I'm sure Brady and Brees will be the first off the list. Should I aim for a QB shortly after or hold out? I have the 7th overall pick. Most of my drafts go something like this
1-Fitz 2-Chris Johnson 3-Manning
or
1-Forte 2-Calvin Johnson 3-Ronnie Brown

Definitely hold out until round 6 or so. IMO, McNabb is the last QB off the board that is worth a round 6 or earlier pick. Other than that, you can grab Cutler, Palmer, Big Ben, etc in rounds 8 - 12 while you fill up your WR and RB depth.

If I hold out to rd 6, I will most definitely have to go after Cutler, Palmer, etc. And I'm not ecstatic about going that route. Last year I lucked up b/c I got Aaron Rogers and Kurt Warner... but that's not likely to happen again. McNabb is about the best value I can get on a QB if I hold out. But I'd be pissed if someone snagged him before me.
