Hey everyone,
I just found out I have the 5th pick in my league. All of the scoring is standard except that we give 1 point per reception. I have been going back and forth about this pick and know that I will have the choice of almost any RB. I have a strong feeling that atleast 1 of the picks before me will go with a QB because he does it every single year.
I really like slaton and where the Texans are going. Anyone have a good reason not to take him 5th overall?
Leave a link I will WHIR

Slaton went in the 2nd rd of my first draft, and he has been in the 2nd in most of the mocks I have done. If MJD or Forte falls to the 5th pick, I would get them over Slaton. If not, I would still go with perhaps Gore or S. Jackson. Any of those should do good in a PPR league, and have bigger upside than Slaton to me. I like Slaton, but I feel the 5th is too high to get him. Do you think Slaton will be available with your 2nd rd pick?

The way I see it for you, if youo like him so much and will enjoy watching him play, then draft him. It is a bit high for him though. I think you should trade down 3-4 spots if you KNOW he will be there and move up in teh following rounds or gain a pick. That is the best advice I can give. You would get the best of both worlds, a player you see worthy of a top 5 pick and some extra draft picks to boot!

I like the idea of trading my draft pick but thats not going to happen in this league.
Here is the way I am looking at it. If the first two guys go with QB (which they might, my league is crazy) then I will obviously bank in on MJD or possibly Forte pending on the guy in front of me. He is a good friend and said he is looking to nab Forte. That leaves me to believe the guy with the 3rd pick will take ADP if both 1 and 2 go QB. In this case I would def go with MJD or maybe Sjax. I look into things more than I should I guess because I like Slaton Fantasy playoff schedule MUCH better than Sjax and just feel like he has a better team which will help him produce more. I am also not completely set on MJD being a full time back. I may be crazy but thats just my feeling.
Now if they both go RB and the top 4 guys are taken in front of me I believe it is a toss up from there on out. So I think in that case I may go with Slaton and just build my team around him. I just see him as having a lot of upside.
I would really like someone to sell me on another player but I have not seen any negatives about Slaton.
P.S. I do not believe in sophomore slumps.....
Anyone else want to chime in I have helped all who answered as well

I drafted Slaton 13th overall ( 3rd pick in the 2nd round of a 10 team league ) is that good value for Slaton?

That is good value for him and may end up being great value by the end of the season.

Given its a PPR league...and 1of top 4 can be a QB. U can get some real good value at 5 with either Forte (high PPR value) or 1 of top 3 RBs ie MT or MJD falling to you.
again being a PPR u might still end up getting slaton in 2nd round...if u dont and u still love him then get a high value stud and trade for slaton at a later point.
