Brent Celek's Prospects

Postby joejlitz » Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:11 pm

Any chance Brent Celek gets 5th or 6th in TE scoring? He looked great after taking over for LJ Smith catching well over 100 yards in one game and 2 TDs in the NFC Championship. I'm considering drafting him as a backup, but expecting him to start for me.

Thoughts, anyone?

Shhhhhh!!!

Don't let the cat out of the bag man. Celek has been flying under the radar in many mock drafts that I've been in this year and I plan on grabbing him when I do the real thing. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people. 5th or 6th in scoring would be low end production IMO. He may even make a run at 1 or 2. Don't quote me on that but he definitely has the skills and the situation he is in couldn't be better.

while i think 5th or 6th is a little high, it's certainly possible as after the Big 4 there really isnt anyone else who i think i guarenteed to score that high

definately worth a shot if you draft a TE late

I have been taking Visanthe Shiancoe or Dustin Keller over Celek is that right?? Or is Celek better?

I have also been taking Visanthe in Mock drafts and then grabbing Celek later as my #2. In the mocks I've done he goes very late or not at all so get the TE you are comfortable with first and grab Celek later as a "backup". I've got a feeling based on how he ended last season that he's going to bust out and he just may end up usurping whomever you picked as your #1.
