Keep D. Williams or Andre Johnson?? WHIR

Postby Frozen#24 » Thu Aug 06, 2009 11:19 pm

I know Williams is ranked higher but I just seem a little scared of him, Stewart, and the panthers schedule. Would you keep him or Andre?

Points are 10 yds per points and 6 pts per TD. No ppr

Depends on the rest of your keepers, but for just this year I prefer DeAngelo. Fox prefers utilizing two capable RBs. Before Williams & Stewart, it was Foster & Williams, and before that it was Stephen Davis & Foster.

Even if Jonathan Stewart wins the bulk of the carries, Williams will remain a prevalent part of the attack. And running behind one of the best o-lines in the league, they're both bound to be effective.

However, beyond this year I'd prefer AJ. There's a good chance Williams leaves via free agency after this year. It looks like Mike Goodson will be groomed to fill the role that Stewart is likely to fill this year. Just too many question marks for me to like DeAngelo's long term outlook more than a stud like AJ.

1. DeAngelo currently has 2 seasons left on his contract.

2. Stewart is chronically injured which doesn't make for a bright future as a #1 back.

He isnt exactly chronically injured but hes a trooper he plays through it ... I actually would actually be scared of a non injured Stewart! I fallowed him here when he played at oregon! Hes just a tough cookie... its his mentality! A lot of guy i would play the injured card on but a lil thing like turf toe is not going to stop stewart!... yeah there are a couple 1st rounders im hesitant on this year Dwill and CJ, Gore, Portis are all all ones im avoiding like the plague unless they fall to me in the 3rd round.

It all depends on what the keeper stipulations are IMO, where you draft and whose keep who. Is there a penalty for keeping a player? Do you lose a draft pick of the round you drafted him in or do you lose a round in advance? Two rounds in advance? That information would be key.
A win next week and all is forgotten.
