First time in .5 PPR league, 6 pts for all TD's - advice

Postby sirchadwick1 » Fri Aug 07, 2009 6:43 am

Alright, I've been playing FF for 4 years now and have won the championship a couple times. But this year my league is introducing a few curve balls. All TD's are 6 pts, .5 points per reception for all players, no - pts for fumbles.

We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1FLEX, 1TE

My main question is... about when should I draft a QB with all TD's worth 6 pts? Obviously they have a tad more value, but then again so do catching RB's and WR's.

Looking at ESPN's top 10 on PPR rankings they have it like this:

1-MJD
2-Fitz
3-AJ
4-LT
5-CJ4.24
6-AP
7-Forte
8-Megatron
9-Moss
10-S Smith

Does this look about right? I have the 7th pick overall and I'm thinking of either going WR-WR-RB-QB or RB-WR-QB.

I think I can snag Peyton in the 3rd. But if I miss I can always go after value w/ Rivers or McNabb. Any advice? Who are the guys to go after? Thx dudes!

If Forte is there at #7 you'll have to adjust your strategy and take him there. After that, you can go with either AJ or Fitz at #7 and have a great WR.

Keep an eye on Eddie Royal. He could be the Wes Welker of the Denver offense and has a chance at 100 receptions. He could be a steal in the 4th rd.

If you get a WR with your #7 overall, I would come back with Westbrook in the second round if he falls to you. Sure he's injured now, but he's good to go once the season starts and could be a steal in a PPR league. Grab McCoy in the 5-6th rd to handcuff him if you get Westbrook. Good luck!

Great advice, thank you. I'm definitely eyeballing Welker and Royal. I'm sure I won't be the only one. Yeah, if I can't get Forte at 7 then I will most likely go for CJ4.24 or Fitz/AJ. Westy scares me but is worth taking a flyer on I guess considering he's a ppr beast. McCoy is a must at that point - I'd feel torn if someone snagged him before me.

Anyone else? This helps me a ton.
