Postby KrazyA428 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 8:34 am

I recently finished a draft for my 12 team league. Standard offensive characters, we don't have PPR.

QB - Phil Rivers
WR - Reggie Wayne
WR - Vincent Jackson
WR - Jerricho Cotchery
RB - Maurice Jones Drew
RB - Marshawn Lynch
TE - Owen Daniels
K - Stephen Gostkowski
BN - Willie Parker
BN - Chad Pennington
BN - Nate Burleson
BN - Brent Celek

DEF - Chicago Bears

Any help is appreciated!

QB: Got one of the best in Philip Rivers. With LT slowly breaking down and the emergence of Vincent Jackson, Rivers will be relied on more and more to win ball games. Pennington is a very solid back up/1 week filler.

WR: Pretty decent. You have a stud in Reggie Wayne, and a very solid fantasy WR in Vincent Jackson (having Rivers will be awesome here too). Not sure about Jerricho Cotchery as a 3rd WR though. He could very well be a solid WR, but the QB situation in New York is mucky. Regardless, he seems like a high upside #3 WR to have, and is probably a good play there. Burleson provides good bye week insurance.

RB: Stud in MJD, and I'd imagine you're going to play Willie Parker the first few weeks because of Lynch's suspension. Regardless, solid trio of RBs. Once Lynch gets back and healthy, defenses are going to need to choose who they want to focus on more: T.O. or Lynch. Parker should be great the first few weeks of the season very heavily.

TE: When healthy, Matt Schaub is one of the league's best QBs. It's funny, all of the attention on the offense goes to Andre Johnson and Steve Slaton, where Owen Daniels is pretty consistent day in and day out. Solid play in Daniels. Celek has the fantasy potential to crack starting lineups given how L.J. Smith used to be used in McNabb's offense.

K: Gostkowski will put up a lot of points in the Pat offense this year, especially with Brady back. No problems here.

DEF: Chicago is always one of the top defensive units in the league, and should continue to thrive under Lovie Smith. Excellent pick here.

Overall, great team. The only question I have is regarding your WRs, but they could very well work out for you.

Top to bottom, I think you have a solid team. RB would be my only area of concern, especially with Lynch out 3 games. I like Parker this year more than most, but I guess you have to be concerned about him losing carries. He should be able to get you through the first part of the season though, and once Lynch is active, FWP will make a nice 3rd back.
