Panthers: If it ain't broke...

After a 12-4 season and an NFC South title, the Panthers took an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach to the offseason. The team returns all of its key starters on offense and managed to hang on to defensive leader Julius Peppers, for better or worse.

That means fantasy owners will find plenty to love about the Panthers again in 2009. The focus will remain on the running game, which is highlighted by the 1-2 punch of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, cleverly coined as Double Trouble.

Although Carolina is a run-first team, don't forget about dynamic receiver Steve Smith. He turned in another sparkling season in 2008 despite a two-game suspension. Owners might have some concerns about Smith's ability to produce with the erratic Jake Delhomme under center, but that combo has been working for years.

Perhaps the Panthers have the right approach: If it ain't broke, why fix it?
