Who for the # 5 Pick in a 12 Man PPR league?

Postby kemper5 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 11:49 am

Im in a 12 Man $$ league and drew the #5 pick overall..It's a 1 point per reception league where all TD's = 6 pts..So who for the # 5 pick over all? I put just my Con's beside each pick

LT - I do not trust him nearly as much now, plus he has Sproles to spell him

Chris Johnson - Nice pick here, but has a slimmed down LenDale fighting for carries in a RBBC system

SJax - Injuries, Weak Offensive Line, Bad QB, No WR's = Disaster ?

Fitz - Should I take a WR at # 5 or is this too early, lots of Double teams and the Madden curse?

Slaton - Can he do what he did in Houston last year, or will he come back to earth, and is this too high for him?

Turner - Nice Back, but had a ton of carries last year, and catches absolutely no passes

I would go w/ LT at #5. I think too many are looking down on him this year, but he'll still be a big part of that SD offense. You can't expect numbers like 06-07, but those years were crazy anyway. SJax would be my next choice, followed by Fitz. Everyone here has a question mark though, except for Slaton. But I'm not sold on him in the 1st rd just yet... even in PPR.

Stay away from Turner in the 1st rd.... he's overvalued, especially in PPR. I have him ranked 20 overall on my cheat sheet. Chris Johnson will still give up a lot of TD's to Lendale (who is in much better shape and in a contract year).
2010 12-team .5PPR
QB - Ryan, Vick
RB - S. Greene, Forte, Stewart, F. Jones, Sproles
WR - Moss, Megatron, NYG Smith, Floyd, M. Williams (TB)
TE - Cooley
D - CIN (week to week)
K - Bironas

I assume this is a redraft league. I would taKe LT at #5. I think that he has one more stud year left in him. He looks good in camp and seems very motivated going into the season.

LT's #'s have been declining over the last couple year..I just see Sproles playing a much bigger part in that offense now and LT putting up worse numbers than last year..Like 1050 Rush, 35 Catch, 200 Receive 6-8 TD numbers..He's declining fellas..He has an absolute TON of miles on him and it shows and he's 30 now..

Please define declining.... Of course his #'s will decline from his record breaking season in 2006.....You know he had turf toe last year right and was still the #6 RB in standard scoring....

LT has never been under 1500 yds and 10 TDs his entire career. I believe that is his floor now that he is healthy. Why would his numbers go down this season compared to last season when he had turf toe? :-B What are you basing your predictions on?

Take Fitz and let the #6 guy in your league ride LT to the championship! :-D

Im strongly looking at SJax at # 5 in the mock drafts..Thinking about it more, St Louis has upgraded their O line quite a bit and SJax is still young, and will get a ton of reps and receptions..Best case senario with SJax is 1300-1400 Rush/50 Receptions and 9-12 TD's..

And what's the worst case scenario? You don't want your first round pick to blow up in your face.

I have to agree with the majority here, of your players I would go:

LT
SJax
CJ4.24
Slaton
Fitz
Turner - Basically, don't take Turner at 5 in a PPR league.
