Help with offer (18 team dynasty)

Postby haloswin2002 » Fri Aug 14, 2009 1:22 pm

I am in an 18-team dynasty league standard non-ppr scoring. We start QB, 4xWR, 3xRB, 1xTE, 1xK, 1xDEF

My team:
QB: Delhomme, Leinart
RB: Pierre Thomas, White, Stewart, Michael Bush, Sproles, McCoy, Donald Brown, Jennings, James Davis, Bernard Scott
WR: Calvin, Colston, VJax, Avery, Bess, Malcom Floyd, Dillard, Reggie Brown
TE: None
K: Hanson, Scobee
Def: NE, BAL

I am obviously lacking at TE and QB. I need one of my young RB to step up (I figure with 5 rookies, I will throw them all at the wall and see who sticks).

I am trying to get Stafford. I had a deal worked out and agreed to, but the owner backed out on me. I was offering:

Delhomme, Avery, James Davis for Orton, Stafford

He changed his mind and said he needed Colston or VJax to make it work. They are very different players than Avery at this point, so I said no. Here is his roster:

QB: Brees, Orton, Stafford
RB: SJax, McFadden, Slaton, Duckett
WR: Bowe, Braylon, Fitz, Santonio Holmes, Doucet, Barden, Patrick Turner, James Jones
TE: Witten, Vernon Davis
K: Crosby, Gould
DEF: NYJ, Jax

I need to make some roster space, and I want Stafford (wouldnt mind getting Orton instead of Delhomme either). Any ideas? He says he doesnt want to trade any starters except for Holmes... should I just give up on this?

From what I am understanding, you are not asking him to give up any of his starters..so who cares. The problem is that his team looks pretty stacked, with the exception of Def and Rb. He probably doesnt care about def since that can go week to week anyway. He could probably be intrigued if you offered better RB's. Try Brown because he will touch the ball more than your other rookies, I like McCoy to much to trade and Sproles is always nice to have in your back pocket. But if you offer any if those 3 you may get a bite.

First off, thanks for the response.

As for the offer, I feel like giving up Donald Brown would be too much. I mean, I could have just drafted Stafford instead of Brown. From the rankings here (and everywhere else) it seems like Brown is much more highly valued that Stafford. Did I just underestimate Staffords value by that much?

same teams... what do you guys think about this offer:

I give: Colston/Pierre Thomas/Bess/James Davis
I get: Stafford/Slaton/Witten

There is no way he can accept that deal. Witten is arguably the best fantasy tight end and Slaton has little to no competition for carries in Houston. Just doens't seem like a legit offer to me.
