6th pick in redraft league. SJax or Chris Johnson?

Postby dan9124 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 9:16 am

The more I think about it, the more I really hate where I'm picking this year. Forte, Jones-Drew, Turner, Peterson, and Tomlinson will probably go ahead of me. Leaving me with a choice of the perennial under achiever Steven Jackson or the little guy who does all the work with no goal line carries Chris Johnson. I had Johnson on all of my teams last year and he was great, but I never envisioned him being a RB1 worth a first round pick. At the same time, it seems people are constantly loving Steven Jackson only to have him get hurt year after year. I really don't know what to do with this pick.

The second round pick is equally puzzling. There's such a lack of quality RBs, it seems the smart move is to take a WR, but that leaves even less capable RBs in the 3rd round.

I would either go with S.Jax or the best WR. On the way back in your second round you can definitely land a guy like Slaton, Jacobs, Westy, Portis or even another top WR to go with Fitz or Andre or Moss. That would leave you with two of the best WRs and then in rounds three and four you can grab buys like Ronnie, Pierre Thomas, Kevin Smith or Ryan Grant. I'm actually leaning towards the WR/WR combo this year.
A win next week and all is forgotten.

I would take Sjax. He is the only RB on that team and is a major threat when on the field. Yes he gets hurt in years past but with a healthy Bulger and an upgraded O-line it should help with the damage. He is a top 6 RB on all sheets.

CJ is a stud but for a redraft I pass on him. RBBC and L.White lost 35lbs. That could mean 1000yrds 13+TD taken away from CJ.

Sjax!

SJax or Williams before Chris Johnson. I even have Slaton above Chris.

I'd take Fitzgerald or DWill before either of them.

you guys think Williams is really as good as he played last year? My thinking is Carolina drafted Stewart for a reason and as time goes on, he's gonna get more and more of the share.

Fitzgerald is an interesting option. I think I'm gonna do a mock draft or two and see how that turns out.
