Draft Today...strategy help

Postby mgonz » Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:49 am

Hey guys, I got my draft today: 2RB, 2WR, 1WR/RB. All TDs 6pts and I just found out that I am selecting 10th in 10 person league. And was just thinking about my strategy and was wondering what you guys thought. After watching the Pats on Thursday, I was wondering if you guys thought it was a bad idea to go Brady/Moss with my first two picks(assuming they are both there). Also, any other ideas you have are greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

I might lean toward taking a RB with Moss then maybe see if Brady falls to you in rnd 3.

Brady/Moss is a horrible idea. Their season in 2007 was great, but it does not disprove the rule that you don't pair a QB/WR if equal talent is available.

Also, don't base ANY decisions on anything you see in the preseason.

I prefer to wait till at least round 4/5 to take a QB.

I would say, don't decide on any 2 players before your draft. Wait to see who falls to you, and take the best players available.

10th over all is a good spot. I doubt that fitz drops to you but moss or aj will fall. I would go RB/WR. Here is how i would rank the WR

Fitz, Andre, Moss, White, Megatron, Wayne

and the RB's that will fall to you.

Gore, Johnson, Barber, Slaton, Tomlinson, D williams, Westbrook

In the 3rd/th round I would look at taking a QB if Brees, Manning or Brady fall (which i doubt)

If not I would go RB/RB, I would take a WR if Colston, Jennings or Boldin fell to me. If not look to target guys like grant and ronnie brown here.

5th/6th - If you got a WR in the 3rd/th dont take one here, go with a RB/QB. If you did go RB/RB in the 3rd/4th then take your 2nd reciever. I like taking a QB here if possible.

I doubt they will be there but here is how i rank them in this area. Rodgers, RIvers, Schaubb, Romo, Warner.
