2nd Pick - Who to take?

Postby theinflatinator91 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 9:50 pm

This is a 10 team h2h league.

Stats are listed below - (Passing going to be retooled)
Completions: 1 point
Pass Yards: 1 point per 80 yds
Pass TDs: 6 points
Interceptions: -6.5 points
Rush Attempts: .25 points
Rushing Yards: 1 point per 12 yds
Rushing TDs: 12 points
Receptions: 2 points
Reception Yards: 1 point per 10 yds
Reception TDs: 10 points
Return Yards: 1 point per 8 yds
Return TDs: 6 points
2 PT Conversion: 4 points
Fumble: -2
Fumble Ret for TD: 6 points

Maurice Jones-Drew is going number one. With receptions being two points is Forte the next off the board over Peterson who gets no receptions?

Really? I had first pick last year and AP did nothing to really help me.

Top RBs Last Year + Point total:
1. MJD - 494.17
2. Deangelo Williams - 490.60
3. Matt Forte - 489.88
4. LT - 452.10
5. Michael Turner - 449.61

Further down the list is AP at #13 with 395.21.

I think I am going Matt Forte or Michael Turner. Last year Matt Forte led all of the runningbacks in receptions! He has 63 to MJD's 62. That is pretty damn good. I get two points per reception. He got 63 receptions with Kyle Orton!!! HE HAS JAY CUTLER NOW!!!

Well...what I personally would do and what I would tell people they "should" do are different here...haha. Personally, I see big things this year from LT and especially with this scoring system, I would have no problem whatsoever drafting him with this pick. He's never been under 50 receptions in his career and has never finished with less than 1500 total yards and double digit TDs....even when he was suffering from turf toe all of last season. That's what I would personally probably do with this scoring system.

The "safe" route to go here is to take ADP. Word is that he has been improving his pass catching skills alot to the point that the coaches have really taken notice which is a nice thing to here for those considering him in PPR leagues. He's really got the highest floor of any of the RBs because he's so talented, he's young, he's on a very run first team, and he's still got a very good offensive line. He's the closest thing to a "sure thing" you can get in fantasy football.

I'd take Peterson, I know you don't get the ppr with him, but he will more than make up for it. I would say that Forte is the only other possibly selection here and LT being right there as well. Good luck.

If you don´t want Peterson because he don´t have receptions, I don´t understand why you mention Turner...

I like LT here just because it is two points per reception. If it was only a half point or 1 point, I'd take ADP, but two points, I think you have to go with LT.
A win next week and all is forgotten.
