10 team league - Redraft Normal stat categories but RB gets 0.5 PPR and WR/TE gets 1.0 PPR Starting positions: QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/Flex/TE/K/DEF
Our draft is next week and i have learned that some of the teams are going WR crazy drafting them earlier then I expected
I have 8th pick and really wanted to go RB/WR, but now im not sure if i can and I don't want to reach for a player. Basically Steven Jackson will fall to my pick but I am thinking of if I should take Moss instead since I know all top 4 WRs will be gone by my next pick. At that point I dont think i would want to reach for Wayne or Jennings so i would have to take a Gore, CJ or Slaton.
This is how the first round will go based on knowledge i have: 1 AP 2 MJD 3 Forte 4 Turner 5 Fitz 6 Andre 7 LT 8 (My pick) Sjax? 9 Moss (will be sjax if i dont take him) 10 Calvin Johnson and DeAngelo , team 9 then will take Jennings or Wayne (team 4 traded to this pick)
Should I go Sjax and CJ/Slaton/Gore or go some other route?
Honestly, and this is balls.....but I would take Moss in the 1st, and Brady in the 2nd if he fell to you....otherwise take the best RB....I like Portis in the 2nd, maybe you just load up in the 3rd and 4th with guys like Lynch, or Ryan Grant.....both of them I think will be huge.
with the 0.5 for RB PPR settings, i think id go sjax/gore. you can start 3 RBs in this league, plus with PPR there are a lot more WRs who are rosterable than would be otherwise. look for welker/royal/housh types with high catch totals and you'll get some very nice production at a very nice price.

Yeah, i would not get caught up in the WR craze, remember, they all get 1 PPR. RBs are still greater value in your league. Find the ones who catch a ton of passes, SJAX, Slaton, Gore, CJ.
if it's 10-12 people go with RB that gets receptions in first (MJD, Westy, SJax) and on a turnaround I'm sure you'll be able to grab top 10 WR's such as Greg Jennings, Steve Smith or even Anquan Boldin. Remember, it's your draft in mid rounds that wins you championships. I would recommend looking out for Anthony Gonzales in 5-7, he's a 3rd year WR on a very potent offense with Harrison gone. And of course go for high-upside high-risk players, you want ti win this thing, right?
this has become an even bigger dilemma for me now. the team with pick 5 has offered me a trade (pending if Chris Johnson is avaliable at my 2nd round pick). He will switch round 2 and 3 picks with me. This would move me up 3 spots in round 3 incase a top WR drops. I know that Westbrook will be taken by the team ahead of me in round 2 so I will be guaranteed either gore or slaton.
If White, SMith, Jennings and Boldin are all taken, id be left with the options of Colston, Welker, Bowe, Marshall, Housh in round 3. Probably either Jacobs Portis or Barber would be avaliable too.
So I now have these options: 1. Draft Moss in round 1, Slaton, CJ or Gore in round 2, and best avaliable round 3 2. Draft SJax in round 1, draft Slaton CJ or Gore in round 2 and best avaliable round 3 3. Draft SJax in round 1, trade picks with team 5, draft whoever is avaliable Gore or Slaton round 2, and hope White, Smith, Jennings, Boldin fall to me)
I am never a fan of taking WR and QB in round 1, heck even round 2 (but that's just me).
I'm gunna shock you a little and say go with Moss and then CJ/Slaton/Gore. THE ONLY REASON I say this is because of the fact that WR get 1 PPR vs. RB who only get 0.5 PPR (which I think is a crime in itself, but that's another story ).

If you're positive CJ/Slaton/Gore will be available in 2, then Moss may be a worthwile risk.
If it were me, I'd take one of the following RBs (ranked):
I wouldn't get hung up on others supposed picks. They may go in a different direction and you could become flustered and end up making bad picks.
I like ChrisJ in the second but not before slaton or gore. White will be vulturing his tds once again. Unless he can break tds of 10+ yards he will not be celebrating in the endzone.
