In this format, most people should be drafting QBs with 1 of their first 2 picks so you will be able to grab some nice RBs at 20 and 21. This is the one scenario where you draft a QB in the first and there should be no second guessing it. If you wait until 20 or 21 and everyone in front of you chooses to go with a QB, you will be in bad shape when it comes back to you in the 2nd.
i like this idea, but it has a flaw, they start 2 QBs and then either 3RB and 3WR or 2RB and 3WR... i still say ADP with the first overall pick and then go for a QB with the 20/21 slot along with the BEST RB or WR available, BUT if lets say something along the lines of Rodgers/Manning/Warner are available grab both at the 20/21 slots... if only one of those is then grab one and the best RB or WR available...
There is also a flaw in your suggestion. What if everyone grabs QBs in the first and 2nd and he is left with the #20 QB? There is NO WAY rogers/manning/warner are there at 20/21 in a 2 QB league..
Each team will probably grab AT LEAST 1 QB leaving him with the #13 QB at the very best if he waits until 20/21. I would grab Brees and then grab jacobs/grant/portis OR BETTER at 20/21 along with the next best QB. QBs win the league in a 2 QB league! Good RBs will fall to 20/21

My present plan is to take two QBs at picks 24/25. I figure I can get two of these 6 QBs: Brees, Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Rivers and Romo.
Because there will be 22 picks after I pick at 25, I don't expect that all 6 would be available coming back. I expect there to be a mini-run on QBs in rounds 2-3.
I think that there is a bigger drop of in talent between the top QBs than the WRs. I may be able to get Jennings at 24/25 and pair him with a QB. However, I'd have to take a QB at 48/49.
If I take two QBs at 24/25, I can get a WR like Ochocinco, Edwards, Anthony Gonzalez, Vincent Jackson, or Edwards. The drop off between Jennings and Ochocinco is not as great as the drop-off between, let's say, Rivers and the QBs who will be left at 48/49 like Schaub, Ryan and Cutler. This is especially so given that passing TDs are worth 6 points rather than the Yahoo default 4.
Does anyone see any flaws in this reasoning?
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
Yes, I highly doubt 2 of brees/brady/manning/rodgers/rivers/romo/mcnabb/schaub will be there at 20/21 in a 2 QB league. If there is, you would be in the drivers seat. The problem is....you don't know. What you do know is that Brees/Brady is there with the first pick, and that good RBs/WRs/QBs will fall to 20/21. I say take Brees and grab the best available at 20/21. Remember....there are only 32 starting QBs in the NFL and you have 10 teams in your league. QBs are the highest point scorers. If everyone starts 2, that is the top 20 QBs. If everyone has a backup, that is all 32 QBs. The fact that you can land the #1 QB and then possibly another solid QB at 20/21, is a bonus! Like I said, good RB and WR will fall later in the draft!
I am convinced that a QB selection will need to be amde earlier than anticipated. However, I am also convinced that I should draft AP at 1, simply because he is much better than the RBs who will be available at 24/25.
I think I should be able to get a top 8 QB at 24/25. I will take the best QB in that slot. If there is a run on QBs, there will be some pretty darn good receivers available. I will probably get Jennings, or perhaps better.
I will then scrabmble and pick up a QB at 48/49, and another at 72/73. Two years ago, in an auction format, I got Romo for $1. Last year, I got Rodgers for $3. I'll make due.
Also, those of us who play a lot of fantasy often assume that other owners know what the hell they are doing. I assure you, about half haven't thought through this draft past round 2!
My guess: Rivers, Romo, McNabb or Schaub at 24, and Roddy White, Steve Smith or Jennings at 25. I'll let you know what happens.
Please keep us posted as to what happens in this draft. I have never played a 2 QB league, but read a lot about them. I am interested to see how yours unfolds and who is available for you at 20/21.
i drafted a 2-QB league...i went with a polar opposite strategy of yours, and ended up with what yahoo predicts is the best team (its a money league, so everyone picked seriously)...granted mine was PPR which obviously factored into my picks, but i advise waiting on QBs--i waited til the 5th-ish round...i have amazing WRs and depth at RBs
i went 5th... 1. (5) Andre Johnson 2. (16) Steve Slaton 3. (25) Calvin Johnson 4. (36) Wes Welker 5. (45) Donovan McNabb 6. (56) Trent Edwards 7. (65) Kevin Smith 8. (76) Darren McFadden 9. (85) Jonathan Stewart 10. (96) Michael Crabtree 11. (105) Reggie Bush 12. (116) Ted Ginn Jr. 13. (125) JaMarcus Russell 14. (136) San Diego 15. (145) Dustin Keller 16. (156) Neil Rackers
in hindsight, the only bad pick i made was crabtree--this was about 2 weeks ago--which i still considered a dumb pick there...s you can see, i got 2 mid QBs in the 5/6 round spot...your taking a big gamble taking QBs as early as you are-i think mcnabb and edwards will put up comparable numbers to the top tier guys, but at other positions theres a huge dropoff...i would say to pick up like a matt schaub in the 4/5 round...if your in a ppr league, you should not even consider the 2 and 3 round QB...i say stock up on your top 2 RBs and WRs..take both QBs, then build the RB/WR depth, then grab a sub QB, then more backups for WR/RB, and finish up with a TE/DEF/K...thats what i did, and you can see the domination i got

Slaton #16 in a ppr? Calvin Johnson #25?
Of course having PPR means your draft will be much different than the OPs....
beleive me i knoweven welker in the 4th in ppr....i think reggie bush in the 11th was the biggest steal of all
anyways, to me, the dropoff at QB is far less than that of the WR/RB...if you waste your picks on QBs youll miss the top tier of the RB/WRs which ultimately wins games for you....think of it like this last year who would say that a QB won their league for them-only the people with drew brees, and they very well also couldve lost...2 years ago, only the tom bradys...but there are so many valuable skill positions-last year i had no eli was my starting QB and i won my league b/c i had the best WR/RBs--thats whats important
you can wait awhile and pick up matt ryan or schaub, who can have just as good a year as peyton or rivers...but if you wait for RBs and WRs youll get antonio bryant and addai, which are drastic downgrades from say jennings and slaton
As insurance, I took Kyle Orton in the 8th round, and Matt Leinart in the 17th. (I figure Warner has about a good a chance as anyone of not making it through the season, so I like that pick alot.)
My only mini regret is passing on Calvin Johnson for Romo. However, remember that in this league, passing TDs are 6 points not 4. Moreover, as I predicted, after I picked the 2 QBs, there was a mini-run on QBs. In the second round, the following QBs were taken: Warner, Cutler, McNabb and Palmer. In the third round: Roethlesberger, Eli Manning and Schaub.
As an aside, the guy that picked Johnson picked Reggie Wayne first. I would have taken them the other way around.
However, I picked up some decent receivers along the way: Antonio Bryant, Lee Evans, and Eddie Royal are my starters. Not great, but my top 3 guys could score around 900 points if they stay healthy.

I don't think most of those wb's you're targeting at 24-25 will be there. Expect 11 qb, 18 rbs and 7wr to be taken in the top 36. I think Bree will be off the board with (at latest) the 4th pick. Good luck...2 qb league are great!
