In a 12 team standard PPR league, which combo would you rather have?

I take it that Johnson & Slaton isn't a option?

I don't really like Brown.
I really really like Johnson ( can't believe I just wrote that ) :-D
I really like Slaton -weak schedule improved Offense, Chris Brown shouldn't take many carries from him.
I normally like T.J. but he has never had to be the guy.

Give me Ronnie & Calvin
Here is a cool game I found.

Settle your differences in the arena.

In a PPR league, I tend to go with Rbs who can catch the ball.

I'll take Slaton and Housh

Is this a redraft, keeper or dynasty league? I think a lot depends on your roster also. Do you need rb's or wr's more? Just looking at it, I think I'm taking Brown/Calvin combo. I'm not as high on Slaton as most people, and don't think that TJ is going to have a big year. Good luck.

Ronnie Brown has underrated receiving skills. Last year he was targeted 43 times in the passing game and had 33 receptions (75%), in 2007 he was targeted 46 and had 39 receptions (in only 7 games) and in 2006 (his last full year) he was targeted 38 times and had 33 receptions. The man can catch the ball well out of the backfield. It's clear he was becoming more of a feature in the passing game before he went down with an injury in 2007. And last year the Dolphins couldn't risk overworking him. His biggest question mark is his ability to stay healthy, but now a year removed from his knee injury he should be more explosive than he was last year. 1,000 yards rushing and 40-50 receptions for 300-400 yards and around 10 total TDs is a real possibility.

Slaton has great upside, but his small size will make it difficult for him to stay healthy and will limit his success in short yardage situations (where he struggled at times last year). He could easily lose goal line work to Chris Brown. Don't get me wrong, I still like Slaton more than Brown, but I don't think the difference is as great as some people make it out to be.

However, given the difference between Calvin Johnson and TJ Houshmandzadeh the decision becomes clear to me. I'd gladly take the Brown/Calvin Johnson combo.

Ill take Slaton/Housh...
I don't get people saying Slaton is "small"....
He is 5'9" 215lbs...
Ever hear of Priest Holmes...same exact stats and he was never considered "small"

Chris Brown as goalline back. Ronnie Brown 2 years removed from ACL. Ricky being less involved thanks to Pat White running the wildcat. Calvin being a huge upgrade over Housh. Give me the better WR and equiv RB.

I'd take Johnson and Brown. Housh has moved to a new offense and will have to deal with the #1 coverage instead of benefiting from another WR taking the extra attention and Slaton worries me in that he may lose or see a reduction in his goal line duties. Ronnie Brown is 2 years off surgery which is generally when explosiveness returns and Ricky Williams looks pedestrian. Johnson is who he is and his thumb doesn't seem to be a big issue. Brown/Johnson please!

Why would Slaton lose his goaline duties? Has this been reported or just speculation since he is the clear #1 back and they want to keep him healthy. Thanks!

He was not very effective as a short yardage back last season. Chris Brown would likely just be better. At this point, it's speculation, but it's also logical.
