Draft Strategy With Keepers? (I'll help you)

Postby Lucky7 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:00 am

I like the strategy of going RB/WR in the first two rounds in a redraft, but am not sure the best strategy in a keeper league where you can keep 2 players. For example, say you keep Chris Johnson as your 9th round pick, and say you have a middle pick in a 10 team league. With someone like CJ in your pocket, what do you do you with the first two picks if, for example, Fitz and LT/Gore are available in rd 1? You could easily go WR/WR and get the likes of Fitz in rd 1 and Wayne/Smith in rd 2 and then fill up on RBs in rounds 3-4. Or grab LT/Gore in the 1st, giving you CJ/(LT or Gore) and get a Wayne or Smith in the 2d round. Thoughts?

I have been thinking about this also. I am in a league where we can keep (3) and I have Forte (12th round), Slaton (13th round) and either Hightower (15th) or A. Rodgers (5th). I do not think you can have too many RB's, not only for depth purposes, but because you can also get the best value for them in trades later in the year. I am not going to take Fitz over LT or SjAx not matter how many RB's I had. If you have a chance to get 2-3 top 10 RB's you need to take them. IMO
