TDs are the hardest thing in fantasy to project. Your best bet is to ask for yardage projections. Those are the best indicators for performance. ;-D

Is this for a TD only league?

If so, I'd rank them:
Jacobs
Sjax
Gore
Slaton
CJ4.24

Not a TD only league but certainly TD heavy. 6 points for all TD's with a couple extra points for length of TD and a couple points for benchmarks (300+passing, 100+ rushing).

I agree Jacobs leads the pack. St. Louis and San Fran struggle to score points in general, so I wouldn't expect a lot of TD's from S-Jax or Gore ( only 8 total last year for both) . I really like Slaton and CJ should be good.

I would go something like this:

Jacobs
Slaton
C.J.
Gore
S.Jax
Herd09

Jacobs - he is the bruiser for NYG and those 15 TDs i don't think are to bad of a projection maybe 12-14 this year...
CJ - he still has the long TD threat, that if you get extra points for will also help out...
Slaton - seems like Houston passes all the way down to inside the 20 and then runs it in I.E. AJ with 1500+YD receiving and only 8 TDs... Slaton will see all of 8-10 this year...
SJax - too many injuries to lock him into an 8-10 slot, look for 6-8 max...
Gore - 6 last year i don't see but maybe 6-7 in that dismal SF offense...

help me out... first post third page thanks!...

I think Jacobs has the best shot at 13+TD but I do not like him in front of the others. He is injury prone and has a killer back up RB to get 30-40% of the balls.

I like it like this
Sjax no rbbc stud PPG top 5 back, has new oline finally, QB Bulger can play when healthy.
Gore no rbbc should be back to 06 numbers catches balls too
Slaton huge threat in passing game 1500yrd total should be hit.10td
CJ: run run run run run 1st..never pass team. Gotta like him even with White taking 10+td away
Jacobs: I love the guy but bradshaw is ranked to high for a back up and he will get hurt. simi split time. But top TD guy on this board but I have him as a top end #2 RB

in terms of all around backs (TD+Yardage) these would be my ranks also, but he was just asking for the top TD guy, so i was assuming it was TDs only in the league or something?

i guess if your looking at the top TD guy because TDs are worth more but you still count yardage you can't gauge the best back off of only one category if your league scores more then just TDs, so if thats the case i go with SJax and Gore as the top 2 backs also...

Same here......basically my rankings were for TD only so I had Jacobs on the top of the list. If we are counting yardage and bonus points for long TDs, I would move Jacobs to the bottom of the list and keep everyone else in the same order.
