12 Team League H2H. We start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 1dst. (no flex) 1pt /20pass yds, 1pt 10 rush/rec yds. 6 pts ALL td's. This is a keeper league, each owner must keep 8 players.
I was offered Boldin and 3.09 for R. White
My Team: Brady, MB3, T.Jones, P.Thomas, R.White, M.Colston, A.Bryant, G.Olsen His Team: P.Manning, ADP, MJD, R.Brown, Wayne, Boldin, Owens, O.Daniels
DO i accept? I love Boldin, but I am slightly concerned about injuries, and his contract situation. White is younger, just signed an extension and is a lock for the next 3-4 years with Ryan under centre.
What sort of player would likely be available for the 3.09 pick?
I think Boldin and White are fairly even; Roddy is younger, is the #1 WR on his team and has arguably better big play potential, but the Falcons have picked up Gonzalez who will steal some of his catches and some TDs, most likely. Boldin is an injury concern and shares catches with Fitz and Breaston (although there are plenty to go around in that offense), but he may be traded or leave after this year to another team where he is the bona fide #1 option. When healthy, he produces top 5 WR #s, especially in a PPR league (although I don't think your league is). Toss up, to me. Throw in that extra pick and I would be close to pulling the trigger.
Tough call. The Boldin/White part seems pretty even to me cuz both will get their yards and tds. Each has their pros and cons, Boldin with the better QB and plays in a pass happy offense, but also shares catches with Fitz and Breaston (although this hasn't been a problem in the past). White is young and has a soph. QB who could be very good in the future and they also have Gonzales now to take catches and TDs. It depends on who would be available at 3.09 in my opinion. Can you give usan idea of who might be there at 3.09?
the 3.09 pick likely wouldnt yield much. To give you an idea of the type of player i'd be looking at, all top rookies will go in the first round, follwed by serviceable dropped players like Lendale White, Leon Washington, ernest Graham, Santana Moss, Eli Manning. By the end of the 3rd round, id be looking at maybe young WR's, ie Brian Robiskie...maybe a solid top 5 Defense. I already have picks 1.08, 2.08, 3.04, 3.08, 4.04, 4.08 as well through some trades. We get 10rds in th draft, and i have 6 picks in the first 4 rds as it is. The 3rd rd in an 8 player keeper is essentially a 10-11 rd pick in a normal draft. I am targeting guys like Tashard Choice, Kevin Curtis, Kevin Walter, Michael Bush, Darren Sproles etc.
I have countered with my White/Jones for Boldin/Brown. He seems to want White bad, and already has ADP and MJD, hopefully he bites. If not, i think i like White over Boldin in a keeper. Too many ???'s with Boldin in the next year or two...coupled with the fact he's played 16 games twice in 6 years.

I like this a lot better. The 3.09 pick is really the 129th pick, counting keepers, so it's a throw-away pick.
All things considered I like White>Boldin. But if he sweetens the deal I would pull the trigger.

thats a nice deal IMO... you upgrade your RB big time and take a slight hit because of potential injuries with Boldin but i think its well worth it...
help me out... last post on the 2nd page thanks!...
He rejected my counter. Oh well, i dont trust Boldin to play 16 games, and who knows if he'll be in that offense next year. Im content to stick with Roddy, and draft a young RB. Thanks guys.
i would have done it...i have them both very close and having additional picks, even if they dont get you a pre-draft star, it allows you to take more chances and stock-pile players who could end up contributing
