10 team H2H league. No PPR. Standard scoring but there are big bonuses for 300 passing/100 rush/100 rec and for longer TDs.
We start 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1K, 1D
Each team kept 6. My keepers are: QB: Ryan RB: AP, Brown, Grant WR: Colston, Holmes and I have picks 1.03 and 2.1 (11 overall).
Saturday is our combined rookie/free agent draft.
Here is the rub: our league is changing formats a little bit next year... each team keeps a minimum of 5, to a maximum of 9. Keeping more than your mandated 5 costs you a pick (i.e. if I keep 7 players, I lose my 1st and 2nd round picks). If keeping more than the mandated 5, you can keep up to a max per position of 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 5 WRs.
My question: who should I target at those first 2 picks?
Here is the best available talent: all rookies
McNabb Schaub Palmer Cassell
Thomas Jones Cedric Benson Jamal Lewis Julius Jones Rashard Mendenhall Lendale White
Sinorice Moss Eddie Royal Hines Ward Antonio Bryant Bernard Berrian Roy Williams
Antonio Gates Tony Gonzalez Dallas Clark

I have them ranked, (including rookies) like this for you: (you have strenght at rb and only have to start 2 of them, but it would be hard to pass on the likes of McCoy/Mendenhall/Lendale etc)
1: Moreno 2: Gates 3: Chris Wells 4: LenDale White 5: Dallas Clark 6: Roy Williams 7: Eddie Royal 8: Bernard Berrian 9: LeSean McCoy (great keeper player with Westy turning 30 if you can hold on to him for a year) 10: Tony Gonzalez 11: Rashard Mendenhall 12: Antonio Bryant
As you start 3 WR, i think its imperative you grab a good one with one of those picks.

What about Donald Brown? Thanks for the help -- I will look at yours now.
Sorry, must have missed Brown. Considering your depth at RB again, id rank him just ahead of Mendenhall for the time being here. I think he has potentials, but I cant see Indy giving up on Addai just yet. However, again, if you could grab a top 3 TE and a guy like Roy Williams with those 2 picks, i think with your scoring system playing 3wr's u can benefit more. If Moreno orMcCoy are available though, I think they have the most long term value. Then I'd pass on the TE and pick up a round or 2 later.
OK let me put it this way... in this keeper league, I am going to take a RB at the 1.3... because we start 2 and I already have 3 strong RBs (AP, Brown, Grant) I want to know who is the best player for 2010 and beyond -- my 1.3 pick is going to (hopefully) ride the pine unless they break out in '09.
Rank these for 2010 and beyond please: Moreno Wells Brown McCoy Mendy Lendale

Never use a mid to late rookie pick on a wr. Its pointless. The wr learning curve is difficult. 90% don't pan out.
Moreno Brown Wells.........most rankings have him 2 Mccoy Mendenhall Lendale.

Moreno - Most talented McCoy - Westbrook 2.0; Philly is perfect fit for him Brown - Good at everything, great at nothing Wells - Big, strong, fast, tough as a snowflake LenDale - only 24 yrs-old, "skinny" now, Free agent after season Mendenhall - The more I watch him, the less I think of his talent level
I really like Gates. Possibly at the 1.03. If he doesn't make it to 2.01. Antonio Bryant is a good target. You need help at wr.
Moreno Gates Schaub...20+ points much better than Ryan. Bryant Clark Dallas Royal Roy W.
Brownie Points

gates is a BALLER. 8 targets in 2 drives last week. Rivers loves him any time any place. between the 20's he is money. Inside the redzone $$$.
I would easily keep gates over Matt Ryan.
In a 6 keeper league. The 1st round equates to a 7th round pick.
Also slip Donald Brown ahead of Bryant and maybe schaub.
