so im in a 14 team h2h Keeper league (keep 7 year to year)...non-ppr... we are just starting our offline draft... all stats a standard aside from 4Pts for pass TD, INTs=-2PTs and 25 return yards per point
my roster so far is: QB-Romo WR-T.O. WR-Lee Evans RB-MJD RB-Joseph Addai TE-Jason Witten W/R- W/T- BN-Shonn Greene K- DEF- D-Jon Beason (was my 7th best keeper) D- DB- DB- DL- DL-
so i just noticed that Fred Taylor was available, i haven't heard much from all off season but i know hes supposed to be the RB1 in NE otherwise Sammy Morris is also available along with Kevin Faulk...
Best available: Donnie Avery Torry Holt Chris Cooley Steve Breaston Big Ben Zach Miller John Carlson Dominek Hixon
best RB available: Sammy Morris Chester Taylor Ricky Williams TJ Duckett Correll Buckhalter Justin Fargas Jamaal Charles Fred Taylor Jerome Harrison Dominic Rhodes Kevin Faulk Tashard Choice
but is Freddy T a decent source as there is not much left at RB at all, also and again Return yards to count...
im up in 4 picks and Donnie Avery has made it through 2 1/2+rounds so who SHOULD i go with in this pick? after this pick its 6 until i pick again...
I also like avery, assuming he recovers from his recent foot injury.
Fragile freddy is about put up or shut up for laurence maroney in my opinion. If you think maroney has any heart at all, you have to think he will be the starting rb over fragile freddy by mid season.
in a 14 man, 7 keeper, i think you have to take avery, if not for this year, then next year. he'll come back early in the season and play well for you, and you'll have an investment in the future. i think he is tiers above the rest of the guys available, at least for you, who's set at TE. after avery, i'd take taylor and taylor, chester and fred, respectively. the remote chance of an AP injury makes chester's potential upside too great for me to ignore here. plus, he will always be trade bait for an owner who needs a handcuff.
i'll rank these guys, just so you don't hate me (this is for your team, your format, not my official ranks) Avery Breaston (actually, scratch that, he's WR4 material.) Chester Fred Hixon Cooley (you don't need a TE but he's too good to leave on the board) Big Ben (solid backup, could even be considered a few spots earlier, but his upside is kind of limited) Jerome Harrison (only guy on that list with serious upside) Tory Holt (i am super low on this dude, but at some point you have to take him) Tashard Choice (MB gets dinged, you have an RB2)
jamaal charles is losing value quickly in camp, ricky is old, fargas is going to be rb3 after DMC and bush, buck is in a crowded backfield and isnt even 2nd on the depth chart, duckett can suckett, morris will be 2nd to taylor and probably faulk in some cases, rhodes is a backup for 3 weeks and then he's 3rd string.

awesome post man, legit with great points and awesome rankings, exactly what i was looking for thanks a TON!!
Since this is a keeper league, I would say your best bet is to go with Avery...once he comes back from his injury it might take him a few weeks to adjust, but I think he'll be a nice player come middle of the year (hopefully Bulger can stay healthy and throw the deep ball!).
Go with Avery. seeing TO and Evans on your roster makes me concerned because you're putting too many eggs in the Bills' basket. If Buffalo has a really bad week you're screwed. If every recovers just fine and breaks out (and he IS the No. 1 WR on that team) then it strengthens your WR core.
