Who wins this Trade??

Postby Slackjaw_ffc » Wed Aug 19, 2009 9:56 pm

Team a: gets Clinton Portis and Santana Moss

Team b: gets Darren McFadden and Randy Moss

if your asking "why does this trade make sense to anyone", team b believes McFadden will finish the year top 10 rb...

Thoughts?

pure value i like the Portis side, but the more i look at it i think i would actually take the DMac/Randy side, simply because the Campbell has lost all confidence and Santana just barely reached 1000 yards last year, so its gonna be a struggle this year. where as Randy should be a lock for 1200+ yards with Brady back at helm, and DMac seems to be the man in oakland he will lose some carries but i think the value of Randy over Santana balances out the value of Portis over DMac....

help me out...

Team B for me. While I do think people are writing off CPort too early, I like the upside of DMac and R. Moss too mush to pass this up.

Team B. Portis is old and I'm honestly weary of drafting him for fear of an off year. Santana, on the other hand, is wildly inconsistent and has never had back-to-back 1,000 yard years.

Compare that to the other side. Randy Moss needs no introduction as a top 5, and possibly top 1 fantasy receiver. Then, you add McFadden, a guy who if given a high volume of carries could be going in the first round of fantasy drafts next season.

Team B by a mile.

Darren McFadden is healthy and we are about to see his real skill. Last season was mired in injuries. Painful dreaded turftoe. He is quick, fast and strong. Coach cable has been lining him up at wr often during camp. The guy should be hitting 70-100 yards a game with occasional tds. His ADP has been climbing. From mid fourth into the late 3rd. There is a good chance for him to finally crack into the top 15 rbs. With the organization structuring the offense towards an allaround ground game.

Plus Randy Moss. One of the leagues best wrs. And will be for 3 to 4 more seasons.

Portis is a top 10-15 back. I don't see much decline for at least 2-3 seasons.

Santana Moss doesn't have much upside anymore. His ceiling is clear. At best he is barely a top 25 wr.

Overall Team getting Moss gets the best player plus an up and coming rb. While moving a rb on the decline and a high floor low ceiling wr.

Get Mcfadden and Randy Moss

Well I"m guessing that team b is you and you are high on McFadden this coming season. I think that he will have a much better year, but he will still lose carries to Fargas and Bush. Even with that I think I'm taking the McF and Moss combo. I think that Randy Moss is going to have a big year this season and that will make the trade worth it.

the gap between Randy and Santana is much bigger than the gap between Portis and McFadden
