Walter's my age, so it was only a matter of time. Now Trufant, that sucks.

We are still only one injury away from be division champs again. Warner's injury. :-b

I'm more concerned with Walter Jones than I am with Trufant.

And when I say I'm concerned with Jones, I mean it in a way like "it becomes a problem when he doesn't suit up for game day." The guy for years skipped OTAs, preseason and then walked in and shut down people and gone to the pro bowl. Now certainly he's a lot older than in those days, but I think the point is that if he's able to go on Sunday we should be fine. Furthermore, Sean Locklear is more than a capable backup. I read something on RotoWorld basically saying the sky would fall if Jones is out and that Seattle will be in shambles. Locklear is a better tackle than at least half the league's LTs so I'm not sure why there is sudden panic.

I think sometimes the East Coast papers want to consistently blame the Seahawks for not grabbing either a left tackle or Mark Sanchez. They seem to feel Matt Hasselbeck is done and I can't wait until they are proved wrong.

Trufant should also be a concern, but not nearly as bad. The shift to a Tampa-2 model should help, plus the added pressure up front from actually being an aggressive defense will fix our secondary woes from last year.

Even with these injuries I'm excited. And don't forget the first two weeks are against the Rams (no Avery, possibly no LT or Bulger too) and 49ers (consistent suckitude) so we basically get a pass on the first two weeks anyway.

Well, our worst fears are being realized yet again:

It hasn't hit the wire just yet and "official", but Danny O'Neil who covers the Hawks just confirmed fractured ribs for Hasselbeck via his twitter page.

Other notable injuries:
- Sean Locklear: high ankle sprain
- Josh Wilson: high ankle sprain
- Justin Griffith: sprained MCL

There's going to be some serious issues on the O-line as well as in the secondary where ever Kelly Jennings lines up.

As a pure side note, it's worth also mentioning that Jim Mora didn't automatically designate Seneca Wallace the starting QB which means it's possible the Seahawks will attempt to roll with 6th rounder Mike Teel, who many Seahawks fans believe could be the QB of the future (although I'm skeptical that Wallace won't be the first in line for snaps).

Here's to hoping that Walter Jones is ready to come back for week 3 (although Frye did just fine in protection and didn't let up a single sack). Here's to hoping that Tatupu won't miss too much time. Here's to hoping that the season isn't already lost to more injuries.

OK, so here's what I need. Jones'n for, truth be told...

I need a biju post that puts a positive spin on the rest of this fledgling season. One that makes me all giddy inside about Seahawk football. One that tells me that beating the Bears this Sunday is a lock.

Can you do that for a brother? Huh? Or are you just too friggin honest about your d*mn...

... oh, nevermind.
