I think it does, too, but with newspapers limited their circulation and going out of business, I'm not sure if that's still the rule. If I'm wrong, I may lobby for a rule change.

It is, but we still keep track of the online Cafe "mentions" in the Cafespotting forum (if someone posts it). To get the newspaper icon, it has to be a printed article in a magazine or newspaper.

Obviously you can lobby for a rule change on that...but I don't think the rule change would pass. The Cafe is mentioned all over the internet & it would be way too easy to get the icon. Before I became a mod, I volunteered to clean up & keep track of the Cafespotting forum. I posted a thread that included all the Cafe "mentions" throughout the years. We had several people post that they saw the Cafe mentioned on a website. These people didn't get icons because it has to be a printed article. I see your point about newspapers & magazines having less circulation and/or going out of business, but I think that if we changed the rule to include website mentions...everyone that wanted it would have the newspaper icon. I like that fact that it's hard to get. Look at me! I volunteered to help out in the Cafespotting forum, and I've tried several times to find a printed article that mentions the Cafe. Still no icon for me.

I just did a google search for Fantasy Football Cafe. There were 968,000 matches. I know not all would apply, but I don't think getting the newspaper icon should be that easy.
