1.12 in 12 team standard

Postby Skins Fanatic » Fri Aug 21, 2009 10:31 am

I have the 12th pick this Sunday in a pretty standard 12 team league with 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex spot. My league is usually very RB heavy, so it is certainly possible that only 1 non-RB (probably Fitz) will go ahead of me. In that case, do I go with Randy or Andre + which RB falls to me? I'm thinking DeAngelo, Gore and Slaton are possibilities.

However, if two of those 3 RBs fall to me, it's going to be hard to pass up taking both of them. I just don't see multiple WRs or Brees/Brady going in the 1st round.

WHIR. Thanks guys. . .

I agree with your stated strategy - grab one stud WR and 1 RB with those top 2 picks. There is a lot of drop-off at thr WR position too after the top tier is gone - I think the best draft strategy this particulare year is to get a nice blend across positions rather than hoarding one particular position...

I have, and I ended up with a great DeAngelo/Gore combo in my first. I just don't think my league is going to go with 3 WRs in the first round, regardless with ADP. Too obsessed with RBs. I'm ok with that though.

all about Value at that first turn of the draft... if there are 2 RB with great value then you have to go with them, im not HUGE on DeAngelo but some are. i think what would look pretty sweet on your squad if the 2 back system doesn't look appetizing at that time then an AJ/Gore combo would be sweet. now if its just Slaton i wouldn't go Slaton/AJ but thats also me... i always like the RB/RB combo at the first turn, but if the value isn't there RB wise then snag AJ...

Any last minute thoughts?

Andre Johnson vs. Randy Moss. . .I'm leaning towards Randy despite Andre being ranked above him in most places. That offense just won't be denied, and we all saw how they have no problem rubbing their superiority in.
