I love college football. College is a step closer to the games we play as children, where a fired up team can beat a far superior opponant. Where trick plays are still run. Where passion still lives. However, there is no substitute for the NFL. Were I given the choice of only one, I would never watch another NCAA game.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

Interesting wording to the question. I actually probably get more fired up for a Badger game than a Packer game. But the NFL game is far more entertaining. I'll always watch the NFL over college, but there is something about school spirit, guys playing for free, and guys who will never make the NFL still giving 110% for the sport they love that does get your heart racing.
College games seem to bring more passion, by both players and fans. But the NFL is the reason I can tolerate baseball all summer...just a couple more weeks, baby!
If I went to a big school in the middle of nowhere that was extremely passionate about their football, then I'd probably go with college football with exuberance. It looks like they're having a ton of fun as far as I can see on tv. However, since I did not, I hate it when tv and radio people talk in depth about college football. Get quite bored, actually. NFL is for those who like football and either didn't have a real allegiance to their college team or have moved on from those wild and crazy days.
I used to always watch College football when I was younger... and even through most of college. Then the FF bug hit me and I caught on well... Now I pretty much only watch NFL games b/c they have more meaning to me. Only keep up w/ bowl games now for college, that's it. Who knows, maybe if College FF gets up to par w/ Pro I'll get into it again.
