Strategy for 2QB Starter League...WHIR

Postby nolimits » Sat Aug 22, 2009 8:37 pm

Playing in a 12 team league this year that will be STARTING 2 QB's! Looking for a little advice on draft strategy. I got the 10 hole pick. My thoughts are to take QB back-to-back and then pick up RB's & WR's.

League specifics:
Roster Positions: QB, QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Passing Yards 25 yards per point
Passing Touchdowns 4
Interceptions -1
Rushing Yards 10 yards per point
Rushing Touchdowns 6
Reception Yards 10 yards per point
Reception Touchdowns 6
Return Touchdowns 6
2-Point Conversions 2
Fumbles Lost -2

i wouldn't i would think about QB/RB, but even tho its a 2-QB setup RB and WR still score more with QBs only getting 4PT per TD, and RBs and WRs getting 6PT per, depending on which QBs are taken i would definitely aim for Brees/Manning and then a RB, if both QBs are gone i think i would have to wait until the 3rd/4th turn and see whats still there... i like the QB/RB combo at the 1st turn for you tho, not QB/QB...

help me out... its on the 2nd page...

I'd consider getting 1 QB, but not 2x QB's back to back. Reardless of the league setup, you still NEED a good RB / WR. If you get 2 QB's before getting any rb/wr's, you're putting yourself behind the 8-ball right off the bat.

You can never predict what will happen, but my thoughts were that by picking QB's back-to-back I might create an urgency that everyone else will follow, allowing me to pick up a decent RB/RB or RB/WR on the 3rd & 4th picks. Think I am reaching using that strategy?

I agree....I would probably go QB/RB and the RB/WR or something next! There are plenty of great QB's in the later rounds that can be had (Shaub, Orton, Garrard, etc...) and so you should be fine but taking back to back QB's would mean no RB/WR's left.

Watch how the draft goes though and see what goes fast. If QB's are flying then picking 1 in the first and 1 in the second should still be ok.

Good Luck!
