4th out of 12 in a keeper draft league: help me! WHIR!!

Postby MBison » Sun Aug 23, 2009 12:01 pm

I am in a 12 team keeper draft league and I have the 4th pick. My keepers are Matt Forte and Steve Smith (I lose my 2nd round and 4th round picks for these).

I have the 4th overall pick. My league scoring is 1 per 15 rush/rec, 1 per 40 pass, 6 per all TD. No PRR.

I am convinced to going RB cause I want a top RB to match with Forte.

These top 4 RBs are still available so one of these will for SURE fall to me.

Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones Drew, Steven Jackson, LaDainian Tomlinson.

I am assuming AP and MJD go 1 and 2 as they should. Not sure who #3 is taking but it could be a moot point but let's just say both Steven Jackson and LT fall to me, who do you take? LT's age scares me but even last year he was pretty decent.

Is there any chance you would go WR instead and lock up Fitzgerald? I wouldn't get to pick until round 3 and the RBs there could be pretty thin. I'm thinking someone like Reggie Bush, Darren McFadden, etc. Otherwise the WRs there would likely be Chad Ochocinco or Roy Williams.

Please help me!

Thanks!

I would say go WR. But those RBs are dope. Not into Sjax to much.

Only if they are gone...would i go wr. The normal route. But those guys are awesome.

Anyone else :)

My point was my decision may come down between

Steven Jackson

vs.

LaDainian Tomlinson. That is if the guy at #3 doesn't take one of them.

So, the question is which one do you go with?

IMO, LT would be the safer pick. I think he is ready for a bounce back year, Sjax is injury prone and teams will be loading the box on him all year. So the choice to me would be LT+2/3teir WR or Fitz+3teir RB

LT+Ochocinco would be my choice
Fitz+McFadden is fine as well (assuming those 2 would be leftover for your next pick)

LT+Mcfadden both have good chances to be 1000+yrd rushers (LT has the better chance OBV)
Fitz is going to have another great year, but not as great as last presuming Boldin stays healthy and Warners lingering injury has even a minor effect on him
Ochocinco is going to be very good as long as Palmer is healthy(iffy), ecspecially with teams having to respect Coles and Henry
Just my .02

I would go with LT. Even in a down year, he was still a top-five back in many leagues. Non-PPR really hurts Jackson's value and you know LT will have more TDs. He's the safer play.

Help with mine?
